BEAC Women produced their most convincing performance of the Hungary Women's Div.A season so far, defeating Vasas Csata Womens 88-62 in Budapest. A blistering opening quarter set the foundation, and the hosts never surrendered control on their way to a 26-point victory.

Opening burst decides the contest

BEAC came out with intent, pressing the ball handler, forcing turnovers and running at every opportunity. Within the first seven minutes they had built a double-digit lead, and by the end of the first quarter the scoreboard read 24-14. Vasas Csata's offense struggled to find any rhythm against a compact, switched-up BEAC defense.

The gap widened in the second period. BEAC's ball movement was sharp, repeatedly finding shooters in the corners and cutters at the rim, and a 12-2 run late in the half sent them into the break with a comfortable cushion at 45-30.

Key moments

Any hopes Vasas Csata had of a comeback rested on the start of the third quarter, and they briefly showed signs of life with a pair of quick baskets in the paint. BEAC responded instantly with a 9-0 run ignited by a steal and a layup at the other end, restoring a twenty-point lead and effectively ending the game as a contest.

The fourth quarter was a formality, with BEAC emptying their bench and giving valuable minutes to rotation players. The hosts still won the period by seven, underlining the depth of their roster.

Tactical story

BEAC's success started on the defensive end. Their aggressive on-ball pressure disrupted Vasas Csata's entry passes, and their help rotations closed off the paint, forcing the visitors into long, contested jumpers. On offense, BEAC played unselfishly, recording a high number of assists on made field goals and attacking the offensive glass with purpose.

Vasas Csata were never able to establish a post presence, and their perimeter shooting was inconsistent throughout. When they did break the press, they often rushed the finish, leaving points on the board at critical moments.

Standout players

• Kata Farkas (BEAC Women): led all scorers with a composed, all-round offensive display.
• Zsófia Nagy (BEAC Women): controlled the tempo as the primary playmaker and finished with a double-double of points and assists.
• Boglárka Szabó (BEAC Women): a menace on the defensive end, generating steals that turned into easy transition points.
• Eszter Tóth (Vasas Csata Womens): one of the few bright spots for the visitors, scoring consistently even as the game slipped away.

What it means for the table

The win lifts BEAC Women's confidence and strengthens their position in the Hungary Women's Div.A standings, with their point differential receiving a healthy boost. For Vasas Csata Womens, the loss is a setback that leaves them searching for answers on the offensive end, particularly against teams that pressure the ball aggressively.

With both clubs facing demanding schedules ahead, the result could prove significant when the final standings are settled — and on this form, BEAC look like a team capable of climbing higher.
