Mega Basket Tbilisi secured a hard-fought 91-84 road win over Iverion in the Georgia Super League on October 3, 2026. In a game that stayed tight into the closing minutes, Mega Basket's late-game execution on both ends proved the difference, handing Iverion a frustrating home defeat.

Match Overview

The contest was a contrast in styles from the opening tip. Iverion leaned on its half-court structure and interior presence, working the ball inside and drawing fouls, while Mega Basket Tbilisi favored a quicker, guard-driven attack with early three-point looks and dribble penetration. Neither side managed to build a double-digit lead for long, and the scoreboard stayed within a single possession for much of the second half.

What separated the teams was the final five minutes. Mega Basket found cleaner shots in crunch time, converted at the free-throw line, and forced Iverion into rushed attempts as the clock wound down.

Turning Point

With the game balanced entering the fourth quarter, Mega Basket Tbilisi strung together a decisive run anchored by defensive stops. Iverion's offense went cold from the perimeter, and a pair of turnovers turned into fast-break points at the other end. That swing pushed the visitors ahead for good and forced Iverion to foul, allowing Mega Basket to seal the result at the line.

Standout Performances

• Mega Basket Tbilisi's guards: Controlled the tempo and delivered key buckets in the fourth quarter, breaking down Iverion's defense off the dribble.
• Mega Basket's bench: Provided valuable minutes and scoring support, keeping the offense productive when starters rested.
• Iverion's interior scorers: Effective in the paint for long stretches, but the production faded as the game tightened.

Tactical Story

Iverion's game plan of pounding the ball inside worked early, generating high-percentage shots and free throws. But Mega Basket adjusted, collapsing help defense into the paint and daring Iverion to beat them from outside. That gamble paid off as the hosts' perimeter shooting cooled. Offensively, Mega Basket's pick-and-roll attack created mismatches that Iverion never fully solved.

Season Impact

This seven-point victory matters in the Georgia Super League standings, where wins on the road against direct rivals carry extra weight. Mega Basket Tbilisi strengthens its position in the upper part of the table, while Iverion is left to rue a home game that slipped away in the closing minutes — the sort of result that can decide playoff seeding later in the season.
