The result gives Peiramatiko Machites an important boost in the Greece A2 standings and reinforces the value of home-court execution in a league known for its physical, tactical basketball.

Match Overview

Peiramatiko Machites set the tone early with active defense and quick ball movement. Kronos Agiou Dimitriou initially kept pace by attacking the basket, but the hosts gradually imposed their rhythm through better shot selection and stronger work on the glass.

By the middle stages, Peiramatiko had built a cushion that allowed them to play with greater freedom. Kronos continued to compete, but the visitors struggled to string together enough stops to mount a serious comeback.

Key Moments

• Second-quarter run: Peiramatiko Machites used a sustained scoring burst to open daylight, mixing transition baskets with offensive rebounds.
• Defensive clampdown: The hosts limited Kronos to tough, contested looks and closed down the paint in the third quarter.
• Bench contribution: Rotational players maintained the intensity, ensuring the hosts did not lose momentum when the starters rested.
• Late-game discipline: Peiramatiko protected the ball and converted free throws to close out the win comfortably.

Tactical Story

Peiramatiko Machites excelled in half-court execution. The hosts moved the ball side to side, drew help defenders, and created open looks from the perimeter and short corners. Defensively, they collapsed into the paint and forced Kronos into outside shots that did not fall consistently.

Kronos Agiou Dimitriou’s best moments came when it pushed the pace and attacked before the defense could set. However, Peiramatiko’s transition defense improved as the game wore on, and the visitors were left searching for answers against a packed-in defense.

Standout Performers

Peiramatiko’s balanced attack was the standout feature. Multiple players contributed in double figures, making it difficult for Kronos to focus on one scoring threat. The hosts’ guards controlled tempo, while their big men owned the defensive glass and protected the rim.

For Kronos Agiou Dimitriou, there were encouraging spells of aggressive play, but the team lacked the shooting consistency needed to stay in touch. The visitors will need to improve their half-court spacing and cut down on turnovers in future Greece A2 fixtures.

Standings and Season Impact

The 78-61 win is more than a single result for Peiramatiko Machites; it is a statement about their ability to control games at home. In a league where point differential can matter, the 17-point margin could also prove useful later in the season.

Kronos Agiou Dimitriou will view this as a learning game. The defensive effort was not enough to contain Peiramatiko’s balanced offense, and the visitors must find more reliable scoring options. For the hosts, the challenge now is consistency — turning this performance into a run that lifts them up the Greece A2 table.
