Panionios B.C. 87-60 Amyntas: Dominant Home Display

Panionios B.C. produced a commanding performance in Greece A2, defeating Amyntas 87-60 on Saturday, 24 October 2026. The home side controlled the game from the opening quarter and never allowed Amyntas to settle into a comfortable offensive rhythm, turning defensive pressure into a steady stream of transition points.

The 27-point margin reflected Panionios’s superiority on both ends. They moved the ball well, attacked the paint with purpose, and held Amyntas to a low shooting percentage. By the final quarter, the result was no longer in doubt, but Panionios kept their concentration and finished the job professionally.

Match Overview

Panionios set the tone early with aggressive perimeter defense and quick ball movement. Amyntas tried to slow the tempo, but Panionios’s guards repeatedly disrupted their half-court sets. The home team’s rebounding advantage also limited second-chance opportunities for Amyntas, forcing the visitors to work harder for every point.

The game was decided in the middle two quarters. Panionios built a double-digit lead before halftime and then broke the game open with a decisive run in the third. Amyntas had brief bright moments behind individual scoring, but they could not match Panionios’s collective intensity.

Quarter-by-Quarter Scoring

Key Moments

The first major swing came late in the opening quarter when Panionios closed with a 10-2 run, turning a tight start into a 22-14 lead. That burst gave the home side confidence and forced Amyntas into chase mode. The second quarter followed a similar pattern: Panionios kept Amyntas scoreless for a long stretch and built a 43-30 advantage by halftime.

The decisive blow came in the third quarter. Panionios opened with a 12-4 run, pushing the lead beyond 20 points and effectively ending Amyntas’s resistance. The home crowd responded, and Panionios’s bench players maintained the energy level through the final minutes.

Standout Players

• Giorgos Papadakis led Panionios with 18 points, mixing drives with confident perimeter shooting.
• Nikos Vlachos added 14 points and 9 rebounds, controlling the glass on both ends.
• Dimitris Kalogeropoulos finished with 12 points and 8 rebounds, anchoring the interior defense.
• Thanasis Moraitis contributed 11 points and 6 assists off the bench.
• For Amyntas, Kostas Rallis scored 15 points, while Petros Giannopoulos added 11 in a losing effort.

Tactical Story

Panionios’s defensive pressure was the foundation of the win. They forced Amyntas into rushed decisions and recorded 12 steals, many of which led directly to fast-break points. Panionios also dominated the paint, outscoring Amyntas 44-24 inside, and won the rebounding battle convincingly. On offense, their ball movement created open looks from the corners and kept Amyntas’s defense rotating.

Amyntas struggled to find secondary scoring. When their primary options were contained, the offense became static, and Panionios capitalized with quick outlet passes. Amyntas will need to improve their ball security and half-court spacing before their next Greece A2 outing.

Season Impact

The win gives Panionios B.C. a strong result to build on and reinforces their credentials as a team capable of competing near the top half of the Greece A2 table. For Amyntas, the defeat is a reminder that road games in this league demand greater consistency on both ends. The response in their next fixture will be important.
