Key moments

The game was effectively decided by Kronos’ 12-0 run midway through the first quarter, which turned an early 6-5 lead into a double-digit advantage. Amyntas never recovered. Kronos’ defense was particularly impressive in the third quarter, when it held the visitors to just 11 points and forced several shot-clock violations.

By the start of the fourth quarter, Kronos led 66-37. The hosts opened the final period with a 10-2 run to push the lead to 37, and the closing minutes were played with both benches heavily involved.

Standout performers

• Panagiotis Georgakis, Amyntas: 12 points. He was one of the few visitors able to create his own shot.

Tactical story

Kronos’ defensive game plan was simple and effective: shrink the floor, force Amyntas into contested jumpers and control the defensive glass. The hosts executed it almost perfectly, limiting second-chance points and keeping Amyntas out of the lane. On offense, Kronos shared the ball well and finished with a high percentage from inside the arc.

Amyntas had no answer for Kronos’ physicality. The visitors committed too many live-ball turnovers and shot poorly from the perimeter, which allowed Kronos to run and build an insurmountable lead.

What it means

Kronos Agiou Dimitriou’s emphatic win is a clear signal of intent in the Greece A2 standings and a significant boost to the team’s point differential. For Amyntas, the defeat is a tough learning moment; the focus must now shift to offensive execution and defensive resilience ahead of the next round.
