Key moments

• Late third-quarter run: Ermis cut the deficit to one possession with a 9-2 burst, forcing Proteas into a timeout.

• Free-throw execution: The visitors converted their bonus opportunities in the last two minutes to seal the road victory.

Tactical story

Proteas Voulas relied on ball movement and perimeter shooting, spreading the floor to create driving lanes for their guards. Ermis Agias countered with a physical inside game and second-chance points, but the home side struggled to contain Proteas’ pick-and-roll attack in the fourth quarter. Proteas’ switchable defense also disrupted Ermis’ rhythm late, forcing contested jumpers and limiting clean looks from beyond the arc.

Standout players

For Proteas Voulas, Alexandros Mavridis led the scoring effort with a composed performance from the wing, while Stelios Koukoulas controlled the pace and made key decisions in the closing minutes. Ermis Agias got a strong contribution from Nikos Theodorou, who attacked the rim consistently, and Giannis Laskaris provided energy on the boards. The difference was Proteas’ ability to answer every Ermis run with a timely basket.

Standings and season impact

The victory gives Proteas Voulas a valuable road result in Greece A2 and reinforces the team’s credentials as a playoff contender. Ermis Agias remains competitive but will rue missed opportunities at the free-throw line and a few defensive breakdowns in the fourth quarter. The head-to-head result could prove significant when the standings tighten later in the season.

Proteas Voulas will take confidence from the 94-86 win, while Ermis Agias will look to rebound with a stronger closing stretch in its next outing.
