Key moments

The third quarter was where Reformers began to take control. A quick scoring burst, sparked by defensive stops and transition opportunities, pushed their lead into double digits and forced Ghana Navy to call for adjustments. The home side battled back behind aggressive drives and offensive rebounds, but Reformers always had an answer.

In the fourth quarter, Ghana Navy cut the gap to five points and raised the intensity of the contest. Reformers responded with mature decision-making, working the clock and converting key free throws. A late three-pointer effectively sealed the result, capping a road performance built on patience and timely shot-making.

Tactical story

Reformers' transition game was a major factor. They pushed the ball after misses, attacked before Ghana Navy's defense could set, and created easier scoring chances. Their guards controlled the pace effectively, knowing when to slow things down and when to exploit openings. Defensively, Reformers contested shots and forced Ghana Navy into several low-percentage possessions during the decisive run.

Ghana Navy's interior play kept them competitive, and their work on the offensive glass generated extra possessions. However, turnovers and inconsistent perimeter shooting hurt their comeback attempts. The home side defended with energy, but Reformers' balanced attack and late-game poise proved too much to overcome.

Standout performers

Reformers received strong contributions from their backcourt, with composed ball-handling and timely scoring in the second half. Their wing players also made important cuts and knocked down open shots when Ghana Navy's defense collapsed inside. For Ghana Navy, the post players worked hard on the boards and finished well around the rim, while the guards showed fight in trying to spark a rally.

League impact

The win is an important one for Reformers in the Ghana ABL standings, especially on the road against a physically competitive opponent. It highlights their ability to close games and manage pressure in the fourth quarter. Ghana Navy will take encouragement from their fight but must address turnovers and late-game execution as they prepare for their next fixtures.
