Coldstore BT delivered one of the most emphatic performances of their Ghana ABL campaign, dismantling Ghana Navy 75-44 in a game that was effectively decided long before the final buzzer. A 31-point winning margin tells the story of a contest in which Coldstore controlled the tempo, dominated the defensive end, and never allowed their opponents to settle into any kind of offensive rhythm.

Match Overview

From the opening tip, Coldstore BT looked the sharper, more organized side. They moved the ball with purpose, attacked the paint with intent, and closed out on shooters with real urgency. Ghana Navy, by contrast, laboured through long scoring droughts and were repeatedly forced into contested, low-percentage shots as the shot clock drained away.

The result leaves Ghana Navy searching for answers at the offensive end, while Coldstore BT reinforced their reputation as one of the toughest defensive units in the league.

Quarter-by-Quarter Breakdown

• First Quarter: Coldstore 18-9 — an early statement built on transition baskets and disciplined half-court defence.
• Second Quarter: Coldstore 19-13 — Navy found a brief spark but never threatened the lead.
• Third Quarter: Coldstore 20-11 — the decisive stretch, with Coldstore pulling away beyond reach.
• Fourth Quarter: Coldstore 18-11 — a professional close-out with the bench seeing meaningful minutes.

Key Moments

The game's turning point arrived midway through the third quarter. Leading by a comfortable but not insurmountable margin, Coldstore rattled off a sustained run powered by forced turnovers and second-chance points, stretching the advantage past twenty. Ghana Navy called timeout, but the momentum never shifted back.

Every time Navy threatened to string together consecutive scores, Coldstore answered immediately — usually through a drive-and-kick sequence or an offensive rebound that turned into easy points at the rim. That ability to respond instantly is the mark of a team with genuine championship habits.

Tactical Story

Coldstore BT's defensive scheme was the foundation of the win. They packed the paint, dared Ghana Navy to shoot from the perimeter, and then contested every release with active hands. The result was a low shooting percentage for Navy and a steady stream of long rebounds that Coldstore converted into fast-break opportunities.

Offensively, Coldstore shared the ball unselfishly, generating balanced scoring across the roster rather than leaning on a single dominant scorer. That balance made them extremely difficult to game-plan against, and Navy never found an answer.

Standout Performers

• Coldstore BT – Emmanuel Adjei: Controlled the game from the point, setting the tempo and finding shooters in rhythm.
• Coldstore BT – Kwabena Osei: Dominant on the glass at both ends, creating countless extra possessions.
• Coldstore BT – Nana Yaw Boateng: Provided scoring punch off the bench and stretched the Navy defence.
• Ghana Navy – Isaac Mensah: One of the few bright spots, battling hard inside despite limited service.

Season Impact

For Coldstore BT, this is the kind of result that builds belief. A 31-point road win, built on defence and depth, strengthens their standing in the Ghana ABL table and signals that they intend to be a factor deep into the season. For Ghana Navy, the priority is clear: rediscover offensive fluency and reduce the turnovers that have been gifting opponents easy points.

The two sides will take very different lessons from this fixture, but the headline is undeniable — Coldstore BT were comprehensively the better team on the night.
