Bourges Basket Women Power Past Toulouse 87-69

Bourges Basket Women delivered a strong home performance to defeat Toulouse Women 87-69 in France’s Ligue Féminine de Basketball on October 18, 2026. The 18-point win was powered by Bourges’ depth, inside presence, and ability to turn defensive stops into quick transition points.

Bourges controlled the tempo for much of the contest and gradually pulled away after a competitive first half. Toulouse competed hard and found some success from the perimeter, but Bourges’ superior rebounding and half-court execution proved too much to handle over four quarters.

Match Overview

The first quarter was played at a fast pace, with both teams looking to attack early. Toulouse moved the ball well and knocked down outside shots, keeping the game close. Bourges, however, began to establish an advantage on the offensive glass and in the paint, creating second-chance opportunities that helped them build a lead.

After halftime, Bourges raised their defensive intensity. The hosts closed driving lanes, forced Toulouse into contested shots, and ran the floor efficiently. A strong third-quarter run gave Bourges a comfortable cushion, and they managed the final period with maturity to secure the victory.

Key Moments

• Bourges’ third-quarter burst turned a tight game into a double-digit lead and forced Toulouse to chase.
• The hosts’ offensive rebounding created extra possessions at critical moments, sapping Toulouse’s momentum.
• Bourges’ bench provided valuable minutes, helping maintain energy and defensive pressure through the second half.

Tactical Story

Bourges’ game plan revolved around controlling the paint and making Toulouse defend multiple actions. The hosts used screens effectively, moved the ball into the post, and punished defensive rotations with timely cuts and open threes. Defensively, Bourges prioritized limiting transition opportunities and closing out on Toulouse’s shooters.

Toulouse had encouraging moments when they played with pace and attacked before Bourges’ defense could set. However, those stretches were not sustained. Bourges’ rebounding advantage and deeper rotation allowed them to keep the pressure on, eventually wearing down the visitors.

Standout Performers

Bourges received a balanced scoring effort, with contributions from the backcourt and frontcourt alike. Their interior players controlled the boards, while the guards dictated tempo and found open teammates. Toulouse’s perimeter players showed fight and shot-making ability, but the team needed a more consistent inside presence to stay within range.

Standings Impact

The victory is a meaningful one for Bourges Basket Women in the Ligue Féminine de Basketball standings, reinforcing their credentials as a team capable of controlling games at home. Toulouse leave with a loss but can take positives from their offensive flashes. Both sides will now prepare for their next fixtures, with Bourges looking to maintain momentum and Toulouse aiming for a more complete defensive performance.
