Basket Lattes Montpellier Women secured a valuable 79-68 road victory over Angers Women in France Ligue Feminine de Basketball, using a balanced offensive display and timely defensive stops to pull clear in the second half. The 11-point margin flattered neither side — this was a competitive game that Montpellier won through better execution down the stretch.

Match Overview

Angers started brightly in front of their home crowd, matching Montpellier basket for basket through the opening quarter. The visitors gradually imposed their rhythm, tightening their defense and converting turnovers into points. A strong run either side of halftime gave Montpellier the cushion they needed, and they managed the game intelligently from there.

Key Moments

• First quarter: A back-and-forth opening with both teams shooting well from the perimeter.
• Second quarter: Montpellier edged ahead with a disciplined defensive stretch and efficient finishing inside.
• Third quarter: The decisive spell — Montpellier extended the lead with a sustained scoring run.
• Fourth quarter: Angers pushed to reduce the deficit, but Montpellier answered every challenge.

Tactical Story

Montpellier's defensive versatility stood out. They switched effectively on screens, disrupted Angers' pick-and-roll actions, and limited second-chance opportunities by controlling the defensive glass. On offense, they shared the ball well and consistently found the open player, which kept Angers guessing. The hosts struggled to generate easy baskets in the half court once Montpellier settled into their defensive shape.

Standout Performers

Montpellier's scoring was well distributed, with contributions from both the starting five and the bench. Their guards dictated tempo, while the forwards did the dirty work on the boards and at the defensive end. Angers had their moments, particularly early, but lacked the consistent production needed to keep pace over 40 minutes.

Season Impact

Road wins in the France Ligue Feminine de Basketball are hard to come by, making this a meaningful result for Basket Lattes Montpellier Women as they look to climb the standings. Angers Women remain a competitive side, but they will want to address their second-half scoring droughts if they are to convert home fixtures into victories going forward.
