USO Mondeville Women Take Road Win Against Rouen Bihorel (W), 68-62

USO Mondeville Women delivered a composed road performance in the France Women's Basketball Cup, defeating Rouen Bihorel (W) 68-62 on September 20, 2026. The visitors trailed early but controlled the middle quarters, then held off a late Rouen push to secure a six-point victory.

The game was more open than the final score suggests, with both teams trading runs and looking to attack in transition. Mondeville’s balance and late-game execution ultimately separated the sides in a competitive cup matchup.

Quarter-by-Quarter Breakdown

• First quarter: Rouen Bihorel (W) 14, USO Mondeville Women 20
• Second quarter: Rouen Bihorel (W) 16, USO Mondeville Women 14
• Third quarter: Rouen Bihorel (W) 17, USO Mondeville Women 16
• Fourth quarter: Rouen Bihorel (W) 15, USO Mondeville Women 18
• Final: Rouen Bihorel (W) 62, USO Mondeville Women 68

Mondeville’s strong opening quarter gave them a 20-14 cushion, and although Rouen Bihorel chipped away over the next two periods, the visitors never surrendered the lead for long. The fourth quarter became a test of composure, and Mondeville passed it.

Key Moments

Rouen Bihorel produced their best stretch in the third quarter, using defensive pressure to create turnovers and quick scoring chances. That run brought the home crowd into the game and narrowed the deficit heading into the final period. But Mondeville answered with a decisive 8-2 surge midway through the fourth, reclaiming momentum at the perfect time.

Free throws and offensive rebounds proved crucial in the closing minutes. Mondeville converted enough at the line to keep Rouen at arm’s length, while Rouen’s late three-point attempts did not fall consistently enough to complete the comeback.

Tactical Story

USO Mondeville Women did their best work when they pushed the pace and attacked before Rouen’s defense could settle. Their guards handled pressure well, and their forwards ran the floor with purpose. Defensively, Mondeville mixed in enough pressure to disrupt Rouen’s half-court rhythm, especially in the first and fourth quarters.

Rouen Bihorel were at their most dangerous when they turned defense into instant offense. Their third-quarter run showed how effective they can be when they play with speed and aggression. The problem was consistency: too many empty possessions in the half court allowed Mondeville to maintain control.

Standout Performers

Mondeville’s backcourt set the tone with steady ball-handling and timely shot-making, while their frontcourt battled on the glass. The bench also provided a spark, helping the visitors maintain energy through a demanding cup tie. For Rouen Bihorel, the effort on the defensive end was strong, and their guards created several highlight-worthy transition plays, but they needed a little more scoring support in the final five minutes.

What the Win Means

This 68-62 road victory is a valuable result for USO Mondeville Women in the France Women's Basketball Cup. Winning away from home in knockout-style basketball requires poise, and Mondeville showed exactly that. Rouen Bihorel (W) will take positives from their fightback, but they will also know this was a game that slipped away in the details: late rebounds, free throws, and a handful of missed open looks.
