Paris Basketball claimed the France Super Cup with a commanding 81-59 victory over Chorale Roanne on Sunday, September 20, 2026. Paris controlled the game from the opening quarter, using defensive pressure and efficient offense to build a lead that never seriously came under threat.

Match overview

Paris Basketball entered the France Super Cup as the more fancied side and quickly justified that status. The team’s guards pushed the tempo, the wings ran the lanes, and the defense forced Chorale Roanne into early turnovers. Roanne tried to settle into a half-court game, but Paris’s length and activity disrupted their rhythm.

By halftime, Paris had established a comfortable advantage. Chorale Roanne showed flashes of resistance in the third quarter, knocking down a few perimeter shots and attacking the offensive glass, but Paris always had an answer. The final quarter belonged to Paris’s bench, which maintained the defensive intensity and closed out the trophy-winning performance.

Key moments

• Paris opened with a 12-2 run, forcing Chorale Roanne into an early timeout.
• A series of steals and fast-break baskets in the second quarter stretched the lead to 20 points.
• Chorale Roanne cut the deficit with a third-quarter surge, but Paris responded with consecutive three-pointers.
• In the fourth, Paris’s reserves protected the lead and sealed the 81-59 win.

Tactical story

Paris Basketball’s dominance started on the defensive end. The team pressured the ball handler, jumped passing lanes, and rotated quickly to contest shooters. That defense fueled a transition attack that Chorale Roanne struggled to contain. Offensively, Paris shared the ball well, attacked the paint, and kicked out for open threes when Roanne collapsed.

Chorale Roanne’s best moments came when it slowed the game and worked through its big men. However, poor shooting nights from the perimeter and a high turnover count made it difficult to sustain any comeback. Paris’s depth was also a major factor, as the bench maintained the same intensity as the starters.

Standout players

Paris’s lead guard dictated the pace, scoring efficiently and creating open looks for teammates. The forward rotation dominated the boards and protected the rim, while the bench provided a balanced scoring threat. It was a complete team performance that reflected Paris’s quality on both ends.

For Chorale Roanne, the shooting guard was the most reliable offensive option, scoring from the perimeter and attacking closeouts. The team’s center battled on the glass and gave Roanne a physical presence inside, but the overall offensive execution was not enough against a Paris side firing on all cylinders.

What the trophy means

The France Super Cup adds another piece of silverware to Paris Basketball’s growing collection and reinforces the club’s status as one of French basketball’s leading forces. For Chorale Roanne, the result is a tough lesson, but the experience of competing in a final can serve as motivation for the rest of the campaign. Paris’s 81-59 win will be remembered as a statement performance in the French basketball calendar.
