The third quarter saw Orchies extend the advantage to 78-41, and the fourth quarter allowed the bench to close out the 100-57 win. Lyonso struggled to get clean looks all night, shooting a low percentage from the field and turning the ball over frequently.

Key Moments

The game was effectively decided in the first eight minutes. Orchies opened with a 15-2 run, capped by a three-pointer and a fast-break dunk. Lyonso called timeout, but Orchies continued to pour it on. Another 10-0 run late in the second quarter pushed the lead past 25 points, and the home crowd was already celebrating before halftime. The second half was a formality, with Orchies’ reserves maintaining the same intensity.

Tactical Story

Orchies’ defensive pressure was the story of the game. The hosts forced numerous turnovers and converted them into easy transition points. Offensively, Orchies moved the ball beautifully, finding open shooters and attacking the rim with purpose. Lyonso tried to slow the pace with zone defense, but Orchies shot over it effectively. The rebounding battle was also one-sided, with Orchies controlling both ends of the floor. The depth of the Orchies roster was evident, as every player who entered the game contributed.

Standout Players

Orchies’ Antoine Mercier led all scorers with 24 points, including five three-pointers. Forward Romain Lefebvre added 18 points and eight rebounds, while guard Nicolas Dupont finished with 14 points and nine assists. For Lyonso Basket, Ibrahim Sow scored 15 points and Pierre Martin added 12, but the visitors had little support around them. Orchies’ bench combined for 38 points, underlining the team’s impressive depth.

Season Impact

This statement win sends a warning to the rest of France Nationale 1: Orchies are a force to be reckoned with, especially at home. The 100-point performance and 43-point margin will boost the team’s confidence and point differential, which can be crucial in tight standings races. Lyonso Basket will need to regroup quickly and address their defensive issues. For Orchies, the challenge now is to maintain this level of intensity on the road, where the competition will be even tougher.
