How the Game Unfolded

Iel Toulon made the sharper start, moving the ball with purpose and knocking down open perimeter shots to edge the opening quarter 22-20. They extended the advantage slightly in the second period, taking a five-point cushion into the half-time break, with Fos Ouest struggling to contain dribble penetration.

The home side responded after the interval, tightening their defence and using their crowd to fuel a third-quarter rally that trimmed the deficit to four. But every Fos Ouest run met a composed Iel Toulon answer, and the visitors saved their best basketball for the final five minutes, converting key baskets and free throws to close out the game.

Key Moments

With the score tightened early in the fourth quarter, Iel Toulon produced a decisive 8-0 run built on two steals and a pair of transition finishes. That sequence forced Fos Ouest to chase the game, and although they hit some difficult shots down the stretch, they never regained the lead.

A clutch three-pointer from the visitors with just over a minute remaining effectively ended the contest, pushing the gap back to six and silencing the home support.

Tactical Story

Iel Toulon's game plan was built on ball movement and shot quality. They consistently generated open looks by forcing rotations and attacking closeouts, finishing with a noticeably better shooting percentage than their hosts. Defensively, they gambled on aggressive help and were rewarded with a handful of crucial turnovers in the second half.

Fos Ouest found success inside and won their share of second-chance points, but their perimeter shooting was streaky and they were punished for careless possessions at the worst possible moments. The rebounding battle was close, but Iel Toulon claimed the decisive boards in the fourth quarter.

Standout Performers

• Iel Toulon: A balanced scoring effort with multiple players in double figures, led by a backcourt that controlled the pace of the game.
• Fos Ouest: Strong interior production kept the hosts competitive, but limited support from the perimeter left them short.

What It Means in France Nationale 1

This is exactly the kind of road win that shapes a season in Nationale 1. Iel Toulon head home with confidence and momentum, while Fos Ouest are left to reflect on a promising attacking display undermined by defensive lapses in the closing stages.
