Nidaros Jets and Tromso Storm are recorded as a 0-0 result in the Firi-ligaen after their October 24, 2026 fixture was stopped before the opening tip. No basketball was played and no player scored, but the night still carried meaning for two clubs expecting a competitive early-season matchup.

Why the game ended 0-0

The fixture was called off during pre-game warm-ups when arena staff identified an unsafe section of the playing surface. Officials from both teams and the league match delegate agreed that the risk of injury was too high, and the game was closed with the score at 0-0. The decision came before the opening jump ball, so neither side recorded a field-goal attempt, rebound or foul in official play.

What the fixture meant

Nidaros Jets were set to host Tromso Storm in a matchup that promised contrasting styles. The Jets have built their early-season identity around half-court defense and deliberate possessions, while the Storm prefer an up-tempo approach with quick threes and transition attacks. The 0-0 scoreline is rare in basketball, where even low-scoring games rarely finish below 40 points, and it leaves both teams without a win or loss on the night.

Matchups we missed

The most intriguing individual battle would have been between Nidaros guard Sindre Aas and Tromso playmaker Henrik Olsen. Aas had been expected to pressure the ball at the point of attack, while Olsen’s ability to push the pace in transition could have tested the Jets’ retreat discipline. Inside, Nidaros center Magnus Berg was set to face Tromso’s mobile front line, a matchup that would have gone a long way toward deciding the rebounding battle.

Season impact

The 0-0 result means neither club gains momentum from a played game, and both will return to training without the benefit of competitive minutes. The fixture now moves to the league’s competition committee for a replay decision. For Nidaros, the focus shifts to maintaining defensive sharpness; for Tromso, the priority remains finding rhythm in the open court without the benefit of this road test.

Final word

While the scoreboard stayed at 0-0, the night served as a reminder that preparation and venue safety are part of the competitive picture in the Firi-ligaen. Both Nidaros Jets and Tromso Storm will hope their next meeting produces the basketball that this fixture could not.
