Gimle 95-65 Frøya Ambassadors: Hosts Dominate from Start in Firi-ligaen

Gimle produced one of the most complete performances of the early Firi-ligaen season on October 22, 2026, routing Frøya Ambassadors 95-65. The hosts set the tone with a blistering first quarter and never allowed Frøya within striking distance after the opening minutes.

Match overview

Gimle raced to a 28-12 lead after the first quarter, using full-court pressure and quick transition baskets to overwhelm Frøya’s half-court offense. The second quarter followed a similar pattern: Gimle outscored the visitors 24-18 to take a 52-30 halftime lead. Any hope of a Frøya comeback vanished in the third, when Gimle stretched the advantage to 74-47.

The final quarter was played at a lower intensity, but Gimle still won it 21-18 to complete a 30-point victory.

Key moments

The game’s decisive stretch came midway through the first quarter. With Gimle ahead 10-8, the hosts ripped off a 14-2 run in just over three minutes, forcing four Frøya turnovers and converting three straight fast-break layups. Frøya called timeout, but the rhythm never returned.

Early in the third quarter, back-to-back three-pointers from Sander Haukeland and Jonas Vik pushed the lead past 30 and effectively ended the contest.

Tactical story
