Ammerud power past Kongsberg Miners in 99-88 Firi-ligaen win

Ammerud delivered a strong offensive performance in the Firi-ligaen, defeating Kongsberg Miners 99-88 in a high-tempo contest that underlined the hosts’ scoring depth and ability to control key stretches. The 99-point output gave Ammerud a deserved home win and added valuable momentum in the league standings.

The game was played at a quick pace from the opening minutes, with both teams looking to attack early in possessions. Ammerud gradually settled into a better rhythm, using ball movement and aggressive drives to create open looks, while Kongsberg Miners stayed competitive through transition plays and timely outside shooting.

Match overview

Ammerud set the tone with a productive first half, building a lead by attacking the basket and forcing Kongsberg into difficult defensive rotations. The visitors responded with spells of their own, keeping the margin within reach and preventing the game from turning into a one-sided affair.

After halftime, Ammerud found another gear. The hosts increased their defensive pressure, turned stops into quick points and maintained a comfortable cushion down the stretch. Kongsberg Miners continued to fight and produced a late scoring run, but Ammerud had enough control to close out the 99-88 victory.

How the game was won

The decisive factor was Ammerud’s ability to score in multiple ways. When the outside shot was available, the hosts used it; when Kongsberg extended the defense, Ammerud attacked the paint and drew fouls. That balance made the home side difficult to contain over four quarters.

Ammerud also won important possessions on the glass and generated second-chance opportunities that helped them maintain separation. Kongsberg Miners remained dangerous in transition and kept the game interesting with shot-making from the perimeter, but they could not string together enough defensive stops in the final period.
