Salon Vilpas W 58-70 Lemkem Women: Lemkem Punish Home Side’s Cold Spell

Lemkem Women secured a 70-58 road win against Salon Vilpas W in Finland I Divisioona Women on October 25, 2026, using a controlled second half to pull away from a determined home side. The visitors’ balanced scoring and defensive consistency proved too much for Vilpas down the stretch.

Salon Vilpas W started with energy and kept the game close early, but Lemkem gradually tightened its defense and found better rhythm on offense. The final 12-point margin reflected Lemkem’s ability to execute in the key moments while limiting Vilpas to 58 points.

Match Overview

The first half was a scrappy, low-scoring battle. Both teams defended with intensity, making every possession feel important. Vilpas used its home crowd to stay engaged, while Lemkem looked to establish an inside presence and create open looks from the perimeter.

Lemkem’s patience paid off after halftime. The visitors moved the ball more sharply, attacked closeouts, and began to convert the kind of open shots that had rimmed out earlier. Vilpas, meanwhile, struggled to find consistent offense against Lemkem’s compact defense.

Key Moments

• Lemkem’s third-quarter run created the first meaningful separation of the game.
• Vilpas went through a scoring drought that allowed the visitors to build confidence.
• Lemkem’s offensive rebounding and free-throw shooting helped close the door.
• The visitors’ defense forced late turnovers to secure the road victory.

Tactical Story

Lemkem’s defensive plan focused on clogging the paint and forcing Vilpas into outside shots. The visitors rotated well and contested rebounds, preventing second-chance opportunities. Offensively, Lemkem used ball screens and patient passing to create mismatches, often finding the open shooter or cutter.

Salon Vilpas W competed hard on defense but could not maintain enough offensive rhythm. The home side had bright moments in transition, yet Lemkem’s ability to control the tempo and execute in the half court proved decisive.

Standout Performers and Season Impact

Lemkem’s scoring was well distributed, with multiple players contributing in double figures and the bench providing energy on defense. The team’s collective rebounding effort was especially important in limiting Vilpas’s second chances. For Salon Vilpas W, the effort was there, but the shooting struggles proved costly.

The 70-58 win strengthens Lemkem’s position in the Finland I Divisioona Women table and gives the team confidence on the road. Vilpas will look to regroup and improve its offensive consistency in the next outing.
