Key moments

Thomas Lateur hit a step-back jumper, and Simon Bogaerts scored inside off an offensive rebound to restore a 68-60 lead.

Levice kept fighting and trimmed the margin to 71-67 in the final two minutes, but Oostende’s Niels Van Den Eynde drilled a corner three to push it back to seven. Levice missed two late attempts from deep, and Oostende closed out the win at the free-throw line.

Tactical story

Oostende controlled the game with efficient half-court offense and strong defensive rebounding. The Belgian side limited Levice’s second-chance opportunities, finishing with a 36-31 rebounding edge, and forced 13 turnovers. Oostende also shot 9-of-22 from three-point range, while Levice managed just 7-of-26 from beyond the arc.

Levice’s best stretches came when they attacked the rim and kicked out to shooters, but Oostende’s rotations were quick enough to contest most open looks. The Slovak side stayed competitive thanks to Horváth’s shot-making and Juraj Kováč’s work on the offensive glass, but they could not string together enough stops in the fourth quarter.

Standout players

Thomas Lateur (Telindus Oostende) led the winners with 19 points and six assists, controlling the tempo and hitting key shots in the fourth quarter.

Simon Bogaerts (Telindus Oostende) recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Niels Van Den Eynde added 13 points, including the late three that sealed the game.

For ONYX Levice, Marek Horváth scored 18 points, Juraj Kováč had 15 points and eight rebounds, and Boris Lukáč contributed 12 points. Levice’s effort was strong, but Oostende’s balance and late-game poise made the difference.

FIBA Europe Cup impact

The road victory puts Telindus Oostende in a promising early position in the FIBA Europe Cup standings and gives the club momentum for the next round of group games. ONYX Levice remain within reach in the table, but the home loss means the Slovak side will need to steal a road result later in the campaign. The head-to-head result could become important if both teams are fighting for the same knockout-stage spot.
