• Quarter scores: Parnu 22-18, 21-19, 24-15, 19-17 Vienna
• Halftime: Parnu 43-37 Vienna
• Final: KK Parnu 86-69 Basket Club Vienna

Key moments

Parnu’s third-quarter run was the story of the game. The hosts increased their defensive pressure on Vienna’s ball handlers, forced turnovers, and converted several quick baskets in transition. When Vienna tried to respond from beyond the arc, Parnu’s closeouts were sharp enough to contest shots without giving up easy drives.

The home crowd sensed the momentum shift, and Parnu fed off the energy. A series of second-chance points and free throws stretched the advantage, leaving Vienna unable to mount a serious fourth-quarter comeback.

Tactical takeaways

Parnu won the battle in the paint and on the glass, controlling the rebound count and limiting Vienna’s second-chance opportunities. Their half-court offense was patient, with good ball movement creating open looks inside and out. Vienna relied heavily on perimeter shooting, and when those shots stopped falling in the third quarter, the offense stalled.

Defensively, Parnu’s ability to switch screens and protect the rim made life difficult for Vienna’s guards. The visitors found some success in isolation, but they could not match Parnu’s balanced scoring attack over four quarters.

Standout performers

Parnu’s backcourt controlled the tempo and consistently found the right pass in pick-and-roll situations. Their leading scorer set the tone early, while the frontcourt delivered crucial rebounds and interior points. Vienna had bright moments from its perimeter players, but the team’s shooting cooled at the worst possible time.

What it means for the FIBA Europe Cup standings

This is a valuable home win for KK Parnu, who will hope to use the result as a platform for the rest of their FIBA Europe Cup campaign. For Basket Club Vienna, the loss highlights the need for more consistency on the road, particularly when their outside shot is not falling. The 86-69 scoreline flatters neither side’s effort, but it accurately reflects Parnu’s control after halftime.
