Dinamo Bucuresti produced a commanding home display in the FIBA Europe Cup on Wednesday night, defeating Szolnoki Olajbanyasz 93-76 in the Romanian capital. From the opening minutes the hosts looked the sharper, more cohesive team, and a strong third quarter removed any lingering doubt about the outcome.

Match Overview

The 93-76 final scoreline understates how controlled the performance was. Dinamo Bucuresti led from the first quarter, extended their advantage steadily, and never allowed the Hungarian visitors to build the kind of sustained run that could have turned the game into a nervous finish.

• Final score: Dinamo Bucuresti 93 – 76 Szolnoki Olajbanyasz
• Competition: FIBA Europe Cup
• Quarter scores: 24-17, 22-20, 25-18, 22-21

How the Game Unfolded

Dinamo Bucuresti set the tone with a 24-17 opening period, built on aggressive perimeter defence and quick outlet passing. The second quarter was more even — Szolnoki settled into the game and traded baskets, keeping the deficit at nine by the interval at 46-37.

The third quarter was where the game was effectively decided. A 25-18 period, powered by two three-pointers in the opening three minutes, pushed the lead beyond twenty and forced Szolnoki into catch-up basketball. From that point on, Dinamo managed the clock and the rotation with real maturity.

Key Moments

The defining stretch came with around six minutes left in the third quarter, when Dinamo scored on five straight possessions while holding Szolnoki to a single field goal. The run turned a twelve-point game into a twenty-point one and visibly drained the visitors' energy.

Szolnoki's best player picked up a fourth foul shortly afterwards, and with their primary offensive option restricted, the Hungarian side struggled to find a consistent source of scoring in the closing quarter.

Tactical Story

Dinamo Bucuresti's plan centred on tempo. They pushed the ball at every opportunity, attacking before the Szolnoki defence could set, and the approach produced a steady stream of high-percentage attempts close to the rim. In the half court, they leaned on pick-and-roll actions with a rolling big man who repeatedly drew help defenders.

Defensively, the hosts were disciplined in their shell positioning, closing driving lanes and forcing Szolnoki into long, contested two-point shots. Szolnoki's ball movement was patient but ultimately too lateral — they finished the night with a modest assist total and a high number of late-clock attempts.

Standout Players

• Andrei Mureșan starred for Dinamo with 23 points on efficient shooting, adding 6 rebounds.
• Jordan Talley ran the offence beautifully, finishing with 18 points and 8 assists.
• Tudor Gheorghe added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the paint.
• For Szolnoki Olajbanyasz, Dávid Vojvoda led the way with 19 points, while Bence Szabó chipped in with 13.

FIBA Europe Cup Impact

This is a significant result for Dinamo Bucuresti in the FIBA Europe Cup, giving them a home victory with a healthy points differential — a factor that can decide group placings when the regular season reaches its final rounds. Protecting home court is essential in this format, and the Romanian side have now made their arena a difficult place to visit.

Szolnoki Olajbanyasz leave with work to do. Their home fixture against the same opponents later in the campaign now takes on added importance, and they will need a much better defensive performance if they are to reverse the result.
