Key moments

Kerem Aydın hit two three-pointers in the burst, and Barış Yılmaz controlled the defensive glass, limiting Prievidza to one shot on multiple possessions. That run pushed the advantage to 58-43 and forced Prievidza into a timeout.

Prievidza tried to respond behind Milan Kováč, who scored eight points in the third, but Denizli’s ball movement consistently found open shooters. A late fourth-quarter dunk by Emirhan Çelik put the finishing touch on the win and sent the home fans home happy.

Tactical story

Denizli Basket attacked Prievidza inside-out, feeding the post before kicking out to shooters. The Turkish club finished with 22 assists and shot 10-of-24 from three-point range. Denizli also dominated the boards 41-30, including 13 offensive rebounds that turned into 17 second-chance points.

Prievidza’s offense was at its best when it pushed the pace, but Denizli’s guards did a good job of getting back in transition. The Slovak side shot a respectable percentage from inside the arc, but it was hurt by 15 turnovers and a 6-of-23 night from beyond the three-point line.

Standout players

Kerem Aydın (Denizli Basket) led all scorers with 22 points, adding five assists and three rebounds. He was the catalyst during the decisive third-quarter run.

Barış Yılmaz (Denizli Basket) posted a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Emirhan Çelik added 14 points and two blocks. Denizli’s bench contributed 21 points, a key advantage in the second half.

For HBK Prievidza, Milan Kováč scored 17 points, and Peter Novák added 14 points and six rebounds. Tomáš Hruška finished with 11 points, but Prievidza lacked the offensive balance to match Denizli’s deeper rotation.

FIBA Europe Cup impact

The victory gives Denizli Basket a strong start in the FIBA Europe Cup standings and a valuable home win that could matter in tiebreakers. HBK Prievidza will need to protect home court in its next group game to avoid falling behind early. For Denizli, the challenge will be carrying this level of rebounding and defensive intensity on the road, where the competition often becomes more physical.
