Tactical story

Benetton Fribourg Olympic’s offense was built on patient ball movement and intelligent cuts. Defensively, Fribourg focused on closing out shooters and forcing Neftchi into contested two-point shots.

Neftchi IK’s best moments came in transition and from beyond the arc. They used quick ball reversals to create open looks and kept the game close with timely baskets. However, their half-court offense became less effective in the fourth quarter as Fribourg tightened its defense and limited second-chance points.

Standout performers

What it means for the FIBA Europe Cup standings

The five-point win is a solid result for Benetton Fribourg Olympic, who will value the home victory and the defensive resolve shown late. Neftchi IK leave with a narrow loss but can take encouragement from their second-half fight. In a competitive group phase, every win and every point differential matters, and Fribourg’s ability to close out a tight game could be important later in the campaign.
