Benetton Fribourg Olympic started brightly and led 10-8 early, but Mykonos Betsson responded with a 10-2 run to take an 18-12 advantage. The visitors led 22-16 after the first quarter and extended the margin in the second, closing the half on a 12-4 surge to take a 42-33 lead into the break.

Fribourg made a push in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to eight at 52-44, but Mykonos answered immediately with a 9-0 run. The visitors also won the rebounding battle 36-30 and recorded 20 assists to Fribourg’s 14. Fribourg committed 15 turnovers, which Mykonos converted into 19 points.

Key Moments

• First quarter: Mykonos’s 10-2 run turned an early deficit into a lead it would never surrender.
• Second quarter: A 12-4 closing run gave the Greek club a nine-point halftime cushion.
• Third quarter: Fribourg cut the lead to eight, but Mykonos responded with a 9-0 burst.
• Fourth quarter: Mykonos knocked down free throws and controlled the tempo to close it out.

Tactical Story

Mykonos Betsson’s pick-and-roll offense was the engine of the win. The guards consistently turned the corner, forcing Fribourg’s big men to help, and then found open shooters or rolling bigs. When Fribourg went small, Mykonos punished them on the offensive glass and in the post.

Defensively, Mykonos clogged the paint and dared Fribourg to shoot from the perimeter. The Swiss side struggled all night from three-point range and could not generate enough second-chance points to stay close. Mykonos also did an excellent job of avoiding live-ball turnovers, which limited Fribourg’s transition opportunities.

Standout Players

Mykonos’s starting guard led all scorers with 19 points and five assists, hitting three three-pointers and controlling the pace. A versatile forward added 16 points and eight rebounds, while the center contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Greek club’s bench added 22 points, a key advantage in a game where Fribourg’s reserves managed only 13.

For Benetton Fribourg Olympic, the leading scorer finished with 17 points but needed 16 shots. Their power forward added 13 points and seven rebounds, and a guard chipped in 11 points. However, Fribourg’s starting backcourt combined for just 9-of-28 shooting, and the team’s 15 turnovers repeatedly stalled momentum.

FIBA Europe Cup Standings and Season Impact

The road win is a significant result for Mykonos Betsson B.C. in the FIBA Europe Cup regular season. Winning away from home in European competition is never easy, and this performance gives the Greek club valuable momentum and a healthier point differential. It also sets a standard for defensive intensity that the team will try to replicate in its next group-stage fixtures.

For Benetton Fribourg Olympic, the loss is a setback but not a fatal one. The Swiss club remains capable of competing in the group, but it must improve its perimeter shooting and ball security to avoid falling further behind. The rematch in Greece will be an important opportunity for Fribourg to adjust, while Mykonos will look to build on a statement road victory.
