Key moments

With the game still within reach at 45-41 early in the third, Rivne rattled off a 12-0 run that changed the complexion of the contest. The surge was powered by back-to-back three-pointers and a pair of transition layups off Cherkaski turnovers. Cherkaski briefly cut the deficit to single digits in the fourth, but Rivne answered with a calm possessions and converted at the line to prevent a comeback.

Tactical story

Rivne’s defense was the foundation of the win. They contested shooters on the perimeter, forced Cherkaski into contested mid-range attempts, and controlled the defensive glass. Offensively, Rivne used ball screens to create driving lanes and kick-out opportunities, finishing with a balanced scoring attack that made them difficult to guard.

Cherkaski’s offense became too reliant on individual creation. When Rivne adjusted to deny the first option, Cherkaski struggled to generate clean looks. Their late push came through increased aggression on the offensive boards, but Rivne’s composure in the final five minutes proved decisive.
