BC Kyiv-Basket produced a dominant offensive display in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague on October 18, 2026, defeating Niko-Basket Mykolaiv 100-70. The hosts reached the century mark and controlled the game from the opening quarter, turning a competitive fixture into a comfortable 30-point win.

The final score underlined Kyiv-Basket’s superiority on both ends. Niko-Basket Mykolaiv competed early but could not match the hosts’ shooting efficiency, transition speed, and depth.

Match overview

From the opening tip at 20:00 local time, BC Kyiv-Basket played with purpose. A 28-16 first quarter set the tone, and the hosts extended their lead in each of the next two periods. By the end of the third quarter, the result was already clear.

• First quarter: BC Kyiv-Basket 28-16 Niko-Basket Mykolaiv
• Second quarter: BC Kyiv-Basket 24-18 Niko-Basket Mykolaiv
• Third quarter: BC Kyiv-Basket 26-17 Niko-Basket Mykolaiv
• Fourth quarter: BC Kyiv-Basket 22-19 Niko-Basket Mykolaiv
• Final score: BC Kyiv-Basket 100, Niko-Basket Mykolaiv 70

Kyiv-Basket’s ball movement was sharp, and the team consistently found open shooters around the perimeter. Defensively, the hosts forced Mykolaiv into difficult shots and limited second-chance opportunities with strong rebounding.

Key moments

The first-quarter run established the pattern. Kyiv-Basket broke the game open with a 12-2 surge midway through the opening period, converting defensive stops into fast-break points. Mykolaiv called timeout, but the hosts kept rolling.

Another decisive stretch came late in the second quarter. Kyiv-Basket closed the half with a 9-0 run, pushing the lead to 52-34 at the break. Any realistic hope of a Mykolaiv comeback disappeared in the third quarter when the hosts opened with back-to-back three-pointers and a dunk in transition.

Tactical story

Kyiv-Basket’s offense was built on pace and spacing. The guards pushed the ball after rebounds, and the big men set solid screens to free shooters. When Mykolaiv switched, Kyiv-Basket attacked the mismatch inside; when the visitors sagged, the hosts made them pay from beyond the arc.

Defensively, Kyiv-Basket’s switching and help rotations frustrated Mykolaiv. The visitors struggled to find rhythm in the half court and were forced into contested jumpers. Kyiv-Basket’s rebounding dominance prevented second-chance points and allowed the hosts to control the tempo throughout.

Standout performers

Kyiv-Basket’s balanced scoring was a major factor. The backcourt controlled the game, the wings knocked down open shots, and the bench maintained the intensity in the second half. The hosts’ interior defense also stood out, deterring drives and cleaning up the defensive glass.

For Niko-Basket Mykolaiv, there were brief positive moments in transition and a few strong individual finishes inside. But the visitors could not sustain offensive pressure against Kyiv-Basket’s defensive discipline.

Season impact

The 100-70 win gives BC Kyiv-Basket a strong result in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague standings and a confidence-building performance on home court. Reaching 100 points will be especially pleasing, as it highlighted the team’s offensive depth and unselfish play.

Niko-Basket Mykolaiv will need to regroup defensively and find more consistent half-court scoring. For Kyiv-Basket, the challenge now is to carry this level of intensity into the next round and turn a dominant night into a sustained run.
