BC Kyiv-Basket produced a commanding 93-61 victory over Cherkaski Mavpy in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague on Saturday, 17 October 2026, dominating from the opening minutes and never allowing the visitors into the contest.

Match overview

Kyiv-Basket raced to a 25-14 lead after the first quarter and extended the advantage to 47-30 by halftime. A 24-15 third quarter pushed the margin to 26 points, and the hosts closed out the game with a 22-16 fourth period to complete a 93-61 win.

The scoreline reflected Kyiv-Basket’s superiority on both ends. They moved the ball efficiently, attacked the offensive glass and converted turnovers into easy transition points. Cherkaski Mavpy struggled to find offensive rhythm and were forced into difficult shots throughout the evening.

Key moments

• Opening statement: Kyiv-Basket started with a 12-2 run, setting the defensive tone and forcing an early timeout from the visitors.
• Second-quarter pressure: The hosts’ full-court pressure created repeated turnovers and helped build a 17-point halftime cushion.
• Third-quarter knockout: A 14-0 run midway through the third quarter removed any doubt about the result.
• Bench contribution: Kyiv-Basket’s reserves maintained the intensity in the fourth quarter, extending the lead to 32 points.

Tactical story

Kyiv-Basket’s defense was the foundation of the win. They denied easy entry passes, rotated quickly on the perimeter and controlled the defensive boards. That rebounding dominance allowed their guards to push the pace and create open looks before Cherkaski Mavpy could set their defense.

Offensively, Kyiv-Basket used patient half-court possessions when needed and attacked the rim aggressively. Cherkaski Mavpy tried to slow the game with zone defense, but Kyiv-Basket’s ball movement and outside shooting punished the strategy. The visitors’ offense never found consistent spacing, and their shooting percentage dropped as the game wore on.

Standout performers

Kyiv-Basket’s forward led the inside scoring and controlled the glass at both ends. The starting guards set the tempo and consistently found open teammates in transition. The bench also made a strong impact, particularly during the decisive third-quarter run. For Cherkaski Mavpy, the leading guard competed throughout, but the team’s offensive struggles limited any chance of a comeback.

Season impact

The victory gives BC Kyiv-Basket a significant confidence boost and a strong points differential in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague standings. A 32-point win is the kind of result that can shape momentum early in the season and send a message to rivals. Cherkaski Mavpy will need to regroup quickly, particularly on the defensive glass and in transition defense.
