Match overview

The game was played at Dubrava’s home arena and immediately took on a fast, physical tone. Key moments

Skrljevo opened with a 24-18 first quarter, punishing Dubrava’s early turnovers with transition baskets. Dubrava responded well in the second period, tightening its defense and using a 21-17 run to cut the deficit to just two points at halftime. That momentum, however, did not carry into the third quarter.

The decisive stretch came midway through the third, when Skrljevo reeled off a 10-2 run that pushed the lead back into double digits. Dubrava struggled to contain dribble penetration, and Skrljevo capitalised with kick-out three-pointers and second-chance points. The home side never fully recovered, and Skrljevo closed out the final quarter with composed free-throw shooting.

Tactical story

Skrljevo’s offense was built on ball movement and spacing. The visitors consistently attacked the paint before reversing the ball to shooters, finishing with a clear advantage from beyond the arc. Defensively, they switched aggressively on screens and forced Dubrava into contested mid-range attempts. Dubrava’s inability to control the defensive glass also proved costly, as Skrljevo generated extra possessions at key moments.

Dubrava’s best spells came when it played through its interior and drew fouls, but the team’s outside shooting was streaky. A series of missed open looks in the third quarter allowed Skrljevo to stretch the lead, and the home side’s late full-court pressure came too late to change the outcome.

Standout players

• Skrljevo: Matej Perković led all scorers with 22 points, including four three-pointers, while Ivan Marić added 18 points and eight rebounds.
• Skrljevo: Luka Šarić controlled the tempo with 11 points and seven assists, committing only one turnover in the second half.
• KK Dubrava Zagreb: Filip Kraljević scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Josip Vrdoljak chipped in with 14 points.
• KK Dubrava Zagreb: Point guard Antonio Bilić added 10 points and five assists but was limited by foul trouble.

Season impact

The win gives Skrljevo valuable momentum in the Favbet Premijer liga standings and reinforces their reputation as a difficult road opponent. For Dubrava Zagreb, the loss is an early-season setback that highlights the need for more consistent perimeter defense and better rebounding discipline. With the Croatian league table still taking shape, both teams will look to build on the lessons from this matchup as the campaign progresses.
