Key moments

Dinamo opened with a 10-2 run that set the tone for the afternoon. Dubrava responded with a brief surge of its own, cutting the deficit late in the first quarter, but Dinamo closed the period with five straight points to lead 23-15. The second quarter followed a similar pattern: Dubrava stayed within reach for a few minutes before Dinamo’s defense created turnovers and transition opportunities that pushed the lead to 14 at the break.

The decisive stretch came in the third quarter. Dinamo held Dubrava to just 13 points in the period while continuing to score efficiently at the other end. By the time the fourth quarter began, the hosts led 65-44, and the final period was played with the outcome no longer in serious doubt. Dubrava kept competing and won the fourth quarter by two points, but the margin never dropped below 14 after halftime.

Tactical story

Dinamo’s defensive approach was the foundation of the win. The hosts pressured the ball, switched effectively on the perimeter, and forced Dubrava into difficult mid-range attempts. On the glass, Dinamo limited second-chance points and quickly turned rebounds into transition attacks. That combination of defense and pace allowed the home side to build separation without relying on one dominant scorer.

Dubrava’s best spells came when it moved the ball quickly and attacked before Dinamo’s defense could set. However, the visitors struggled to sustain that rhythm against Dinamo’s physicality. Foul trouble and turnovers further disrupted Dubrava’s flow, and the team was held to 62 points — a total that reflected Dinamo’s control on the defensive end.

Standout performers

Dinamo’s backcourt controlled the tempo and consistently found open teammates in transition. The frontcourt delivered important contributions on the boards and protected the rim, while the bench maintained the defensive intensity when rotations came. It was a balanced team performance rather than a one-man show, which made the win even more impressive. For Dubrava, the best individual moments came from guards who tried to spark the offense, but the team lacked the consistent scoring punch needed to threaten in the second half.

Season impact

The victory gives Dinamo Zagreb bragging rights in the Zagreb derby and important momentum in the Favbet Premijer liga standings. A 23-point win built on defense and balance will please the coaching staff, especially with the team able to rest key players late. For KK Dubrava Zagreb, the loss is a reminder of the gap that remains against the league’s stronger sides, though the fourth-quarter fight offered a small positive. Both teams will now prepare for their next league fixtures, with Dinamo looking to carry the defensive intensity forward and Dubrava focused on reducing turnovers and finding more consistent offense.
