Olympiakos Women earned a valuable road win in the EuroCup Women, defeating Wroclaw Women's 78-68. The visitors were composed in the key moments, using a strong second half to pull away from a Wroclaw side that stayed competitive but lacked the finishing punch down the stretch.

Match overview

The game was tight early, with Wroclaw playing with energy in front of its home crowd. Olympiakos, however, gradually imposed its half-court discipline and took a four-point lead into halftime. The third quarter proved decisive, as the visitors won it 19-15 and then protected their advantage with timely baskets in the fourth.

• First quarter: Wroclaw Women's 18-20 Olympiakos Women

• Fourth quarter: 16-18
• Final score: Wroclaw Women's 68-78 Olympiakos Women

Key moments

Wroclaw started brightly and briefly led early, but Olympiakos responded with a 9-0 run late in the first quarter to settle the game. The hosts stayed within touching distance until the third period, when Olympiakos stringed together stops and converted them into points at the other end. Every time Wroclaw threatened to cut the deficit to one possession, the visitors found an answer, often through patient ball movement or a timely offensive rebound.

Tactical story

Olympiakos’ advantage came from defense and control. The visitors limited Wroclaw’s clean looks from the perimeter, contested drives and forced the hosts into contested mid-range attempts. On offense, Olympiakos played with poise, attacking the paint when the lane opened and moving the ball for open jumpers when Wroclaw collapsed. Wroclaw’s effort was strong, particularly on the offensive glass, but the hosts’ turnover count and a cold shooting stretch in the second half proved costly.

Standout performers

Olympiakos received strong production from its backcourt, which dictated pace and made important shots in the third and fourth quarters. The frontcourt also played a key role, protecting the rim and creating extra possessions. For Wroclaw, the inside presence and energy on the boards kept the team in contention, but the hosts needed more consistent perimeter scoring to complete the comeback.

EuroCup Women impact

The result strengthens Olympiakos’ position in the EuroCup Women standings and underlines the value of winning away from home in a competitive group. Wroclaw, meanwhile, will take encouragement from stretches of the performance but must turn close defeats into victories if it is to climb the table. The final score of 78-68 reflects a game that was competitive for long spells but decided by Olympiakos’ late-game execution.
