MKB Euroleasing Women delivered a dominant road performance in the EuroCup Women on October 22, 2026, defeating Royals TV Saarlouis Women 83-46. The Hungarian side controlled the game from the opening tip, using superior size, disciplined defense and efficient transition scoring to turn the contest into a comfortable victory.

Match overview

MKB Euroleasing opened with a 21-8 first quarter and never looked back. Saarlouis struggled against the visitors’ length in the paint, missing contested shots and turning the ball over under pressure. The second quarter brought more of the same: MKB went on a 15-0 run midway through the period and carried a 40-22 lead into halftime.

The third quarter effectively ended any doubt. MKB outscored the home side 22-12, pushing the margin beyond 30 points and allowing the coaching staff to rotate the bench. Saarlouis competed until the final buzzer, but the gap in physicality and half-court execution was clear throughout the night.

Key moments

The 15-0 second-quarter run was the decisive blow. It began with a blocked shot and a fast-break layup, then continued with two offensive rebounds and a corner three. Saarlouis called timeout, but MKB’s momentum carried into the second half. The visitors’ defensive pressure forced 19 turnovers and limited Saarlouis to just 30% shooting from the field.

Tactical story

MKB’s interior defense and rebounding advantage shaped the game. The visitors controlled the glass 48-29 and scored heavily in the paint, often through second-chance opportunities. Offensively, MKB moved the ball patiently and punished Saarlouis’s help defense with timely cuts and open corner threes. Saarlouis tried to speed the game up in the second half, but the turnovers continued and MKB’s bench maintained the intensity.

Standout players

Anna Kovacs led MKB Euroleasing with 18 points and 10 rebounds, dominating the interior on both ends. Zsofia Nagy added 14 points and five assists, while the bench contributed 25 points. For Saarlouis, Lena Weber finished with 12 points and six rebounds, but the home side lacked a consistent scoring threat against MKB’s length. The visitors’ balanced attack was reflected in five players scoring at least eight points.

Season impact

The result strengthens MKB Euroleasing’s position in the group and gives the club a valuable road win with a strong point differential. Saarlouis faces a difficult review after a heavy home defeat and will need to improve its ball security and rebounding before the next round. MKB, by contrast, looks like a team capable of making a deep run if its defense continues to perform at this level.
