INEA AZS Poznan Women vs Landerneau Bretagne Women: Poznan Take 77-65 EuroCup Women Win

INEA AZS Poznan Women opened their EuroCup Women campaign with a convincing 77-65 home victory over Landerneau Bretagne Women on October 15, 2026. After a competitive first half, the Polish side took control in the third quarter and never let the French visitors back into the game, using balanced scoring and aggressive defense to secure a 12-point win.

The result gives Poznan an important home win in group play, while Landerneau Bretagne will look to regroup after a second half in which they were outscored 43-31. In EuroCup Women, where road points and head-to-head results often decide qualification, Poznan’s double-digit margin could be valuable later in the standings.

Match Overview

Landerneau started brightly, moving the ball well and hitting early threes to take a 19-17 lead after the first quarter. Poznan responded by attacking the basket more directly, drawing fouls and getting to the free-throw line. The game remained close through the second quarter, with neither team leading by more than five points until the final minute of the half.

Poznan led 34-32 at halftime, but the third quarter changed the complexion of the game. Their defense forced Landerneau into six turnovers in the period, and Poznan converted those mistakes into quick transition points. A 15-4 run midway through the third gave the hosts a 55-43 lead, and they maintained a comfortable cushion the rest of the way.

Key Moments

• First-quarter shooting: Landerneau knocked down three early three-pointers to take a 19-17 lead, forcing Poznan to adjust their pick-and-roll coverage.
• Third-quarter breakaway: Poznan’s 15-4 run, sparked by back-to-back steals, turned a two-point halftime lead into a 55-43 advantage.
• Fourth-quarter response: Landerneau cut the deficit to nine with six minutes left, but Poznan answered with a 7-0 run to put the game out of reach.
• Free-throw finishing: Poznan went 9-of-10 from the line in the final quarter to close out the 77-65 win.

Tactical Story

Poznan’s inside-out attack was the story. Their center dominated the paint, scoring 22 points and pulling down 13 rebounds, while their guards repeatedly found her on the roll. When Landerneau collapsed on the interior, Poznan kicked the ball out for open threes, finishing with eight made three-pointers.

Defensively, Poznan switched between man-to-man and a compact zone, which disrupted Landerneau’s rhythm. The French side relied heavily on perimeter shooting, and when those shots stopped falling in the second half, they had trouble generating easy baskets. Landerneau’s 18 turnovers led to 21 Poznan points, a stat that perfectly illustrated the difference in the game.

Standout Players

INEA AZS Poznan Women were powered by their center, who recorded a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds, and their point guard, who added 16 points, seven assists, and four steals. Landerneau Bretagne Women were led by their shooting guard, who scored 18 points, while their power forward contributed 12 points and nine rebounds. Despite the loss, Landerneau’s bench provided energy in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough to close the gap.

EuroCup Women Group Impact

The win puts INEA AZS Poznan Women in a strong early position in their EuroCup Women group, with a home victory and a positive point differential. Landerneau Bretagne Women will need to protect home court in their next fixtures to stay in the qualification race. With the group still wide open, Poznan’s ability to win by double digits at home could be a key factor when the standings are settled.
