Besiktas JK Women produced one of the most emphatic performances of the EuroCup Women round, dismantling Brandys nad Labem Women 83-71... on the scoreboard it was 83-48, and in truth the contest was even more one-sided than that final margin suggests. The Turkish visitors controlled every phase of the game, holding the Czech side to 48 points in a defensive masterclass on the road.

Match Overview

Besiktas arrived with clear intentions: pressure the ball, deny easy entry passes, and force Brandys into contested shots late in the clock. The plan worked almost immediately. The hosts managed just a handful of field goals in the opening quarter and found themselves chasing a deficit that grew with every passing minute.

Offensively, the Istanbul side were ruthless in transition, converting defensive stops into layups and open threes. By halftime the lead had ballooned into a margin that allowed the coaching staff to rotate deeply, giving valuable minutes to the full roster.

Key Moments

• Opening statement: Besiktas opened with a suffocating defensive sequence, forcing multiple turnovers in the first five minutes.
• Second-quarter breakaway: A sustained run either side of the first-quarter break effectively put the game beyond reach before halftime.
• Third-quarter control: Brandys found some rhythm from the perimeter, but Besiktas answered every mini-run with a composed half-court possession.
• Bench closing: The final quarter saw the visitors' reserves protect the lead comfortably, keeping the hosts below 50 points.

Tactical Story

The defining feature of this game was Besiktas's defensive discipline. Their guards navigated screens aggressively, their help rotations arrived on time, and their rebounding limited Brandys to almost nothing in second-chance points. Holding a professional side to 48 points is a statement, and it came from collective effort rather than individual brilliance.

At the other end, Besiktas's ball movement was sharp. They attacked the paint first, drawing help defenders before kicking out to shooters, which produced a high percentage of open looks. Brandys, forced to defend long possessions, wore down physically in the second half.

Standout Performers

Besiktas's perimeter core dictated the tempo, combining scoring with pressure defense and clinical decision-making in transition. Their interior players dominated the glass at both ends, turning defensive rebounds into fast-break opportunities. For Brandys, the effort never wavered, but the scoring burden fell heavily on a small number of contributors.

Season Impact

For Besiktas, this is the kind of road win that builds confidence and bolsters points differential in a competitive EuroCup Women group. The Turkish side will now fancy their chances of progressing deep into the competition.

Brandys nad Labem face a period of reflection. The Czech outfit have shown flashes of quality, but a 48-point outing underlines the gap in execution against elite opposition. Improving ball security and finding secondary scoring options will be the priorities in training.
