Key moments

The decisive sequence came in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter. With Braine within four points, ALBA produced a crucial defensive stop followed by a transition basket. Another stop and a pair of free throws stretched the lead to eight, forcing Braine to foul.

ALBA’s composure at the line proved important. Braine had opportunities to close the gap but missed several contested shots in the final two minutes, allowing the hosts to run out the clock.

Tactical takeaways

ALBA’s ball movement was excellent for much of the game. They attacked the paint, drew help defenders, and kicked out for open perimeter looks. Defensively, they limited Braine’s easy baskets in the half court and forced the visitors into tough shots late in the clock.

Braine competed well on the boards and generated second-chance points, but their half-court offense became predictable down the stretch. ALBA’s ability to switch on screens and contest without fouling made the difference.

Standout performers

ALBA received contributions from across the roster, with their guards controlling tempo and their forwards doing the dirty work inside. The team’s leading scorer delivered in key moments, while the bench provided energy and defensive intensity. Braine’s top performers kept the game close, but they lacked enough support in the final quarter.

What it means for the EuroCup Women standings

The win gives ALBA Berlin Women a valuable home result in the EuroCup Women and strengthens their position in the group. Castors Braine will take lessons from a competitive performance but will need to execute better in late-game situations. ALBA’s 75-68 victory was built on balance, defense, and poise.
