First Half: Prague Set the Defensive Tone

The second quarter was more of the same. Prague outscored Bourges 18-14, taking a 38-26 lead into halftime. Bourges struggled to find any offensive rhythm, often settling for contested jumpers late in the shot clock.

Second Half: No Way Back for Bourges

Any hopes of a Bourges comeback were dashed in the third quarter. Prague continued to dominate, outscoring the visitors 19-15 to extend their lead to 57-41. Their half-court defense was impenetrable, and their offense executed with precision.

In the final period, Prague maintained their intensity, closing out the game with a 19-14 quarter. The final score of 76-55 reflected their complete control over all four quarters.

Key Moments and Turning Point

The turning point came late in the second quarter. With Prague leading 30-24, they went on a 8-0 run over two minutes, capped by a steal and a layup. That pushed the lead to 14 and forced Bourges to call timeout. The French side never recovered.

Prague’s defensive pressure was relentless, and Bourges could not find consistent scoring from any position. Every time they threatened a small run, Prague answered with a timely three or an offensive rebound.

Tactical Story

ZVVZ USK Prague Women executed a near-perfect defensive game plan. They switched on screens, doubled in the post, and rotated quickly to close out on shooters. Bourges was held to just 55 points, well below their season average.

Offensively, Prague shared the ball beautifully, with multiple players contributing. They attacked the basket, moved the ball side to side, and knocked down open shots when Bourges collapsed. Their rebounding advantage also limited Bourges’ second-chance opportunities.

Standout Performances

Prague had a balanced scoring effort, with several players finishing in double figures. Their point guard controlled the tempo, while their forwards dominated the glass. The bench also provided a spark, maintaining the defensive intensity throughout.

For Bourges Basket Women, it was a night to forget offensively. Their leading scorer was held in check, and the team as a whole struggled to generate clean looks. Defensively, they competed but could not contain Prague’s balanced attack.
