Key moments

Flammes Carolo opened with a 10-2 run that silenced the home crowd and established the visitors’ confidence. Valencia responded with a spirited second-quarter spell, but the visitors closed the half strongly to take a 10-point lead into the break. In the fourth, Valencia cut the gap to five early on, only for Flammes Carolo to answer with a 12-2 burst that effectively sealed the win.

Tactical story

Flammes Carolo’s perimeter shooting and defensive discipline were the foundations of the victory. The visitors moved the ball crisply, created open looks from beyond the arc and punished Valencia’s help defense. Defensively, they limited Valencia’s transition game and forced the hosts into tough shots late in the clock. Valencia’s interior scoring kept the game within reach for a while, but the home side’s outside shooting was inconsistent and its rebounding effort fell short in key moments.

Standout performers

Flammes Carolo’s backcourt controlled the tempo and delivered several crucial baskets when Valencia threatened. The wing rotation also contributed on both ends, knocking down open shots and disrupting passing lanes. Valencia’s post players worked hard inside and gave the team a physical presence, but the hosts needed more balanced scoring to counter Flammes Carolo’s depth.

EuroLeague Women impact

This is the kind of road win that can shape a EuroLeague Women campaign. Flammes Carolo showed it can travel to a strong opponent and dictate terms, a quality that matters in the standings race. Valencia will need to review its fourth-quarter execution and perimeter defense before the next fixture. The result adds another layer of intrigue to the competition’s early-season picture.
