Famila Wuber Schio Women delivered one of the statement performances of the EuroLeague Women round, walking into Istanbul and beating Galatasaray Women 84-66. A blistering first quarter set the foundation, and the Italian side never allowed the hosts to establish any rhythm, controlling the glass and the tempo for a full forty minutes.

Match Overview

Galatasaray came into the fixture with home-court advantage and a loud crowd behind them, but Schio's defensive game plan neutralized that edge almost immediately. The visitors closed the first quarter with an eight-point lead and extended it steadily through the middle periods, building a cushion that never dipped below double digits after halftime.

Quarter-by-Quarter Breakdown

• First quarter: Schio 24-16 — an early 10-2 run forced an early Galatasaray timeout.
• Second quarter: Schio 20-18 — the hosts steadied but could not close the gap.
• Third quarter: Schio 22-15 — the decisive stretch, capped by back-to-back transition baskets.
• Fourth quarter: Schio 18-17 — comfortable game management from the visitors.

Key Moments

The turning point came late in the third quarter, with Galatasaray having cut the deficit to 11 and the crowd rising. Schio's response was clinical: a contested three from the wing, a steal at midcourt, and a fast-break layup in the space of 40 seconds pushed the lead back to 16 and effectively ended the contest.

Earlier, the opening four minutes had already hinted at the outcome. Schio scored on five of their first six possessions while forcing three Galatasaray turnovers, establishing a defensive tone that the home side never fully solved.

Tactical Story

Schio's success was built on two pillars: defensive rebounding and ball movement. They limited Galatasaray to very few second-chance opportunities and consistently beat the hosts' half-court pressure with crisp ball reversal. Offensively, the Italian side shared the load, finishing with four players in double figures — a balance that made them extremely difficult to defend.

Galatasaray, by contrast, leaned on individual creation. When their primary scorers were forced into difficult shots, the offense stalled, and the resulting live-ball turnovers fed Schio's transition attack. The hosts also struggled from the free-throw line, leaving points on the board in a game where every possession mattered.

Standout Performers

• Famila Wuber Schio: Their perimeter leader dictated the game with a composed all-around performance, while the frontcourt duo controlled the boards and protected the rim.
• Galatasaray Women: The starting guard fought hard with a team-high scoring effort, but received limited support from the bench.

EuroLeague Women Implications

This result strengthens Schio's position in the group and gives them a valuable road win that could prove decisive in tiebreakers later in the competition. For Galatasaray, the defeat highlights the need for greater offensive balance and better care of the ball ahead of a demanding run of fixtures. Both teams remain firmly in the qualification conversation, but the momentum after this round clearly belongs to the Italians.
