Key moments

Landes opened with an 8-2 run, but Kibirkstis settled quickly and used a 10-0 burst in the second quarter to seize momentum. The visitors led for much of the second half, yet Landes refused to fade. A late 8-0 run brought the hosts back into contention, but Kibirkstis answered with a composed sequence of free throws and a crucial defensive stop to close out the win.

Tactical story

Kibirkstis won the game with defense and transition play. The visitors forced turnovers, pushed the pace off misses and attacked the rim before Landes could set its half-court defense. Their offensive rebounding also created extra possessions at important moments. Landes, meanwhile, relied heavily on its interior scoring and had stretches of good execution, but costly turnovers and missed open looks in the fourth quarter limited the comeback.

Standout performers

Kibirkstis’ guards controlled the tempo and made key decisions late, while the forwards provided energy on the glass and finished around the basket. The bench also gave the visitors a lift, particularly during the second-quarter run. For Basket Landes, the center and forward rotation kept the team in the game with inside scoring and rebounding, but the hosts needed more consistent perimeter production to complete the rally.

EuroLeague Women impact

A road win of this kind can be significant in the EuroLeague Women standings, especially in a competitive early-season schedule. Kibirkstis showed maturity in closing out a tight game, while Basket Landes will focus on limiting turnovers and improving late-game execution. The 73-67 result leaves both teams with clear lessons as the competition moves into its next round.
