Crvena Zvezda Belgrade delivered a statement performance on the road, defeating Dubai 77-58 in EuroLeague action on October 9, 2026. The Serbian powerhouse controlled the game from the second quarter onward, using a suffocating defense and efficient half-court offense to hand Dubai a lopsided home defeat. The 19-point margin marked one of Crvena Zvezda's most complete efforts of the young season, while Dubai were left searching for answers after a promising opening period.

Match Overview

The first quarter was a tightly contested affair, with both teams trading baskets and neither able to establish a significant lead. Dubai's home crowd was energetic, and the hosts matched Crvena Zvezda's intensity early on. However, the visitors flipped the script in the second quarter, unleashing a decisive run that turned a close game into a comfortable advantage. By halftime, Crvena Zvezda had built a double-digit lead they would never relinquish.

The third quarter saw Crvena Zvezda maintain their defensive pressure, forcing Dubai into contested shots and costly turnovers. The fourth quarter was academic, with the Serbian side managing the clock and extending their lead to its final margin. The quarter-by-quarter scores told the story: 20-16, 22-14, 18-15, 17-13, all in favor of the visitors.

Key Moments

• Second-quarter surge: With the score tied at 18-18 early in the second, Crvena Zvezda went on a 14-2 run over a four-minute span, capped by back-to-back three-pointers from their shooting guard.
• Defensive lockdown: Dubai managed just 14 points in the second quarter, their lowest scoring period of the game, as Crvena Zvezda's switching defense frustrated their pick-and-roll attack.
• Fourth-quarter dagger: Any hopes of a Dubai comeback were extinguished midway through the final period when Crvena Zvezda's point guard stole the ball and converted a fast-break layup to push the lead to 20.

Tactical Story

Crvena Zvezda's game plan was clear: disrupt Dubai's rhythm and force them into long, contested jump shots. The Serbian side switched aggressively on screens, often trapping Dubai's ball-handlers near the sidelines. This strategy paid off, as Dubai shot just 38% from the field and committed 17 turnovers. Offensively, Crvena Zvezda relied on their interior presence, scoring 36 points in the paint and drawing fouls to get to the free-throw line 22 times.

Dubai, meanwhile, struggled to find offensive consistency. Their guards were unable to penetrate the lane, and their big men were neutralized on the boards. The hosts were also outrebounded 42-31, giving Crvena Zvezda numerous second-chance opportunities.

Standout Performers

• Crvena Zvezda guard: 18 points, 6 assists, 3 steals — controlled the tempo and hit timely shots.
• Crvena Zvezda center: 14 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks — dominated the paint on both ends.
• Dubai forward: 16 points, 7 rebounds — the lone bright spot for the hosts, but inefficient on 6-of-15 shooting.

EuroLeague Implications

The win improves Crvena Zvezda's early-season record and reinforces their reputation as a tough, defensive-minded team capable of winning on the road. For Dubai, the loss highlights growing pains in their EuroLeague campaign. The expansion side has shown flashes of potential, but consistency remains elusive. With a demanding schedule ahead, both teams will look to build on this result as they jockey for position in the standings.
