Dubai continued its impressive EuroLeague start with a 107-91 road win over Bayern Munchen on Friday, delivering a sharp offensive performance in Munich. The visitors used a dominant third-quarter run and a barrage of three-pointers to pull away from Bayern and secure a confidence-boosting victory.

Match Overview

Bayern Munchen began the game with energy, feeding off the home crowd and getting early production from Carsen Edwards. Dubai stayed composed, answering with Dwayne Bacon’s scoring and Klemen Prepelic’s shot-making. The first quarter was tightly contested, ending with Dubai ahead 26-24. The second quarter followed a similar pattern, with both teams trading baskets, and Dubai took a 52-48 lead into halftime.

The game changed in the third quarter. Dubai opened the second half with an 18-4 run, turning a four-point lead into a commanding 70-52 advantage. Bayern tried to respond behind Andreas Obst’s three-point shooting, but Dubai’s offense remained efficient and the visitors maintained a comfortable margin the rest of the way.

Key Moments

The 18-4 run to start the third quarter was the decisive sequence. Bacon ignited the burst with a contested three and a fast-break dunk, while Prepelic added two more triples. Bayern called timeout, but Dubai’s defense forced turnovers on the next two possessions, and the lead never dropped below 12 points after that point.

• Dubai outscored Bayern 32-20 in the third quarter.
• The visitors shot 17-of-35 from three-point range.
• Dubai’s bench contributed 38 points.
• Bayern committed 16 turnovers, leading to 22 Dubai points.

Tactical Story

Dubai’s perimeter shooting and transition offense overwhelmed Bayern. The visitors spaced the floor effectively, using ball screens to create open threes and attacking closeouts with decisive drives. Bacon and Prepelic were the primary beneficiaries, but Dubai’s ball movement consistently found the open man. Defensively, Dubai switched aggressively and forced Bayern into contested shots and turnovers.

Bayern’s offense had good moments, particularly when Edwards attacked off the dribble, but the hosts could not string together enough stops. Bayern’s interior defense struggled against Dubai’s driving guards, and the home side was outscored in fast-break points. The turnovers were especially costly, as Dubai converted them into easy points at the other end.

Standout Players

• Dwayne Bacon (Dubai): 29 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists, leading the visitors.
• Klemen Prepelic (Dubai): 21 points, including five three-pointers.
• Dubai’s backcourt: combined for 18 assists, controlling the pace of the game.
• Carsen Edwards (Bayern Munchen): 26 points, keeping the hosts competitive in the first half.
• Andreas Obst (Bayern Munchen): 20 points, shooting 5-of-9 from beyond the arc.
• Devin Booker (Bayern Munchen): 13 points and 9 rebounds in the paint.

Season Impact

The win strengthened Dubai’s position in the EuroLeague standings and added another notable road result to its early-season résumé. For Bayern Munchen, the loss exposed defensive and turnover issues that need to be corrected. In a competitive EuroLeague regular season, protecting home court is crucial, and Bayern will be eager to bounce back quickly.

Dubai’s offensive execution and third-quarter explosion were too much for Bayern to handle. With Bacon scoring at will and Prepelic providing perimeter firepower, the visitors earned a deserved 107-91 win and continued to show they belong among the competition’s dangerous teams.
