Dubai earned a notable EuroLeague road win on October 14, 2026, defeating Baskonia Vitoria 93-79. Dubai controlled the middle quarters, shot the ball efficiently from the perimeter, and never allowed Baskonia to establish a consistent rhythm at home.

Match overview

Baskonia Vitoria opened the game with energy, attacking the rim and drawing fouls early. Dubai absorbed the pressure, stayed patient on offense, and took their first lead late in the first quarter. The second quarter was the turning point: Dubai went on a extended run, powered by three-point shooting and transition baskets, to build a double-digit halftime advantage.

Baskonia tried to respond in the third quarter, but Dubai’s defense held firm. Every time Baskonia cut the lead to single digits, Dubai answered with a timely three or a strong drive to the basket. The final quarter saw Dubai protect their lead with smart possessions and free throws, closing out a convincing 93-79 victory.

Key moments

• Second-quarter run: Dubai outscored Baskonia 30-18 in the second, turning a close game into a 14-point halftime lead.
• Three-point barrage: Dubai hit four three-pointers in a five-minute stretch that broke Baskonia’s defense.
• Baskonia’s push: A 7-0 run early in the fourth cut the deficit to nine, but Dubai answered with a 6-0 run of their own.
• Late execution: Dubai’s half-court offense generated open layups and free throws in the final three minutes.

Tactical story

Dubai’s offense was patient and precise. They used ball screens to create mismatches, then either attacked the big man off the dribble or found shooters on the perimeter. Their spacing was excellent, which made it difficult for Baskonia to help without giving up an open three. Defensively, Dubai switched aggressively and forced Baskonia into contested jump shots.

Baskonia’s offense was most effective when they played inside-out. Their post players drew double teams and created open looks for shooters, but the team struggled with turnovers and cold stretches. Baskonia also lost the rebound battle, giving Dubai extra possessions that proved costly. Dubai’s ability to control the pace and limit live-ball turnovers was a major factor in the win.

Standout players

Dubai’s star guard led the way with 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists, slicing through Baskonia’s defense all night. Their forward added 20 points and 8 rebounds, while a reserve guard contributed 14 points off the bench. For Baskonia, the leading scorer finished with 18 points, and their center added 15 points and 11 rebounds. Baskonia’s guards combined for 11 assists but also committed too many turnovers under pressure.

Season impact

The win gives Dubai a valuable road result in the EuroLeague and boosts their confidence in a competitive standings race. Beating a tough home team like Baskonia Vitoria can be a season-defining result if Dubai is fighting for a playoff spot. Baskonia, meanwhile, will need to review their second-quarter defense and rebounding before their next EuroLeague fixture. The loss leaves them with little margin for error in the coming weeks.
