Reyer Venezia secured a composed 75-65 victory over Turk Telekom in a EuroCup Basketball regular-season matchup on October 15, 2026, using a decisive third quarter to turn a competitive game into a comfortable home win. The Italian side led 37-32 at halftime before pulling away with a 20-14 third period, and they protected the advantage with disciplined fourth-quarter execution.

Match overview

The final scoreline reflects a game that was tight early but increasingly controlled by Venezia. Turk Telekom stayed within striking distance through the first half, leaning on physical inside play and second-chance points. But Venezia’s defensive pressure and ball movement created cleaner looks after the break, and the hosts never allowed the Turkish club to mount a serious late run.

Quarter-by-quarter: Venezia 19-15, 18-17, 20-14, 18-19. Halftime: 37-32. Third-quarter edge: 57-46. Final: 75-65.

Key moments

The turning point arrived early in the third quarter. After Turk Telekom trimmed the deficit to 41-38, Venezia responded with a 12-2 run over the next four minutes, forcing a timeout and shifting the momentum permanently. The run was built on stops rather than just shot-making: Venezia deflected passes, closed driving lanes, and turned two live-ball turnovers into transition baskets.

Turk Telekom made one final push in the fourth, cutting the lead to nine with just under six minutes remaining, but Venezia answered with a patient possession that ended in an open corner three. From there, the home side managed the clock and converted free throws to keep the game out of reach.

Tactical story

Venezia’s half-court defense was the foundation of the win. The Italian club switched aggressively on screens, limited Turk Telekom’s pick-and-roll efficiency, and forced the visitors into contested mid-range attempts. On offense, Venezia moved the ball from side to side, attacked closeouts, and generated high-percentage shots near the rim or from the corners.

Turk Telekom’s biggest problem was perimeter shooting. The Ankara-based side struggled from beyond the arc and could not consistently punish Venezia’s help defense. When Turk Telekom did find success, it came through offensive rebounds and physical drives, but those bursts were too infrequent to sustain a comeback.

Standout players

• Venezia’s backcourt leader controlled the tempo with 17 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals, repeatedly breaking Turk Telekom’s pressure.
• Venezia’s interior anchor added 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks, giving the hosts a reliable presence on both ends.
• Turk Telekom’s top scorer finished with 16 points and 7 rebounds, but had to work hard for every look.
• Turk Telekom’s secondary guard chipped in 13 points, though turnovers hurt the visitors during Venezia’s decisive third-quarter run.

EuroCup Basketball standings impact

The result strengthens Reyer Venezia’s position in the EuroCup Basketball standings and gives them a valuable home win in group play. In a competition where point differential and head-to-head results can shape tiebreakers, a 10-point margin could matter later in the regular season. Turk Telekom, meanwhile, will view the loss as a missed road opportunity and will need stronger perimeter shooting in upcoming fixtures.

EuroCup Basketball continues to reward teams that can defend at a high level across four quarters. Venezia showed that identity in this game, while Turk Telekom showed flashes of the physical style that makes them dangerous when their shots fall.

What’s next

Venezia will look to carry the defensive momentum into their next EuroCup fixture, while Turk Telekom return home aiming to protect their home court and climb back up the group table. The two sides could meet again later in the competition, and if they do, the head-to-head result will be an important reference point.
