Le Mans Beats Rostock Seawolves 82-70 in EuroCup Basketball

Le Mans produced a controlled home performance to defeat Rostock Seawolves 82-70 in EuroCup Basketball on October 15, 2026. The French side led from the opening quarter, absorbed every German surge, and closed the game with a decisive fourth-quarter run to secure a valuable 12-point win.

Final score: Le Mans 82, Rostock Seawolves 70.

Match Overview

Le Mans set the tone early with active hands, smart switches, and a willingness to attack the paint. Rostock Seawolves stayed within striking distance through the first half, but they never fully solved the home team’s half-court defense. The result strengthens Le Mans’ position in the EuroCup Basketball standings and gives the club a useful head-to-head advantage in the group phase.

The game was played at a measured pace, with Le Mans scoring 41 points by halftime and holding Rostock to 34. That seven-point cushion became a double-digit lead in the third quarter, and the French club protected it with poise down the stretch.

How Le Mans Built the Win

Le Mans opened with a 22-18 first quarter, using early three-point shooting and second-chance points to edge ahead. The second period followed a similar pattern: Le Mans added 19 points while limiting Rostock to 16, taking a 41-34 lead into the locker room.

The decisive separation came in the third quarter. Le Mans outscored Rostock 21-17, pushing the advantage to 62-51. Whenever Rostock threatened, Le Mans responded with a timely stop or an inside finish. A late 10-2 run in the fourth quarter removed any remaining doubt and sealed the 82-70 result.

Key Moments

• Late first quarter: Le Mans closed the opening period on an 8-0 run, turning a close game into a 22-18 lead.
• Third-quarter surge: A 9-2 burst early in the second half pushed the Le Mans advantage into double figures.
• Rostock’s response: The Seawolves cut the deficit to six midway through the fourth quarter, but they could not land the next big shot.
• Closing run: Le Mans finished with a 10-2 spurt over the final minutes, dominating the defensive glass and converting free throws.

Tactical Story

Le Mans won this game with defense and paint control. The home side forced Rostock into contested mid-range attempts, rotated quickly on the perimeter, and limited clean looks from beyond the arc. On offense, Le Mans attacked the rim through ball screens, kicked out to open shooters, and punished Rostock on the offensive boards.

Rostock’s best stretches came in transition. When the Seawolves pushed the ball after missed shots, they created easy baskets and briefly made it a one-possession game in the third quarter. But Le Mans slowed the tempo, switched to a more physical half-court approach, and forced Rostock to execute against a set defense. The visitors finished with too many empty possessions in the fourth quarter.

Standout Players and Season Impact

Le Mans guard Matt Morgan helped dictate the pace, while Yannis Morin provided a strong interior presence on both ends. The home team’s balanced scoring was the story: multiple players reached double figures, and the bench contributed important minutes without a drop in intensity.

For Rostock Seawolves, Derrick Alston Jr. was among the most active scorers, but the visitors lacked the same balance. The loss leaves Rostock needing a response in their next EuroCup Basketball fixture, while Le Mans can build on a win that should boost confidence and point differential in the group standings.
