Lausanne 67-88 Mitteldeutscher BC: German side dominate on the road in ENBL

Mitteldeutscher BC produced a commanding road performance on 22 October 2026, beating Lausanne 88-67 in the European North Basketball League. The German club controlled the game from the second quarter onward, using defensive pressure and efficient offense to pull away for a 21-point victory.

Match overview

Lausanne started with energy in front of their home crowd and kept the game close early. However, Mitteldeutscher BC gradually imposed their physicality and depth, turning a competitive first quarter into a comfortable lead by halftime. The visitors never let the hosts back into the contest after the break.

The final scoreline reflected MBC’s control on both ends. They held Lausanne to 67 points, forced turnovers and dominated the rebound battle. Offensively, the German side shared the ball well and consistently found open looks against a Lausanne defense that struggled to contain dribble penetration.

Quarter-by-quarter scoring

• First quarter: Lausanne 15-24 Mitteldeutscher BC
• Second quarter: Lausanne 18-22 Mitteldeutscher BC
• Third quarter: Lausanne 17-20 Mitteldeutscher BC
• Fourth quarter: Lausanne 17-22 Mitteldeutscher BC

Key moments

Mitteldeutscher BC set the tone in the opening quarter with a 10-2 run that forced an early Lausanne timeout. The hosts responded briefly, but MBC closed the period strongly to lead by nine. The second quarter followed a similar pattern: Lausanne would score, but MBC would answer with a run of their own, often sparked by defensive stops.

The decisive blow came early in the third quarter. MBC opened the second half with a 9-0 surge, extending their lead to 20 and effectively putting the game out of reach. Lausanne fought hard but could not string together enough stops to mount a realistic comeback.

Tactical story

Mitteldeutscher BC’s defense was the foundation of the win. They pressured Lausanne’s ball handlers, closed driving lanes and forced contested shots. The visitors also controlled the defensive glass, limiting second-chance points and allowing their offense to play in transition.

On offense, MBC attacked the paint early and used that success to generate open three-point looks. Their ball movement was sharp, and they consistently made the extra pass against Lausanne’s rotations. Lausanne, by contrast, relied too heavily on individual plays and struggled to find rhythm against MBC’s length and physicality.

Standout performers

Mitteldeutscher BC received balanced scoring across the roster, with their guards dictating pace and their big men controlling the boards. Several players contributed in double figures, making it difficult for Lausanne to focus on one offensive threat.

Lausanne had encouraging moments from their perimeter players, but the team as a whole struggled with turnovers and shot selection. The hosts will need a more cohesive offensive approach in their next outing.

Standings and what comes next

The road win strengthens Mitteldeutscher BC’s position in the European North Basketball League standings and gives them valuable momentum. For Lausanne, the defeat highlights areas to address, particularly ball security and defensive rebounding.

MBC will look to maintain their defensive intensity in their next ENBL game, while Lausanne will aim to regroup and produce a stronger home performance in the coming weeks.
