How the Game Unfolded

The opening quarter set the tone for a fast, physical contest. Zamora Raptors came out firing from the perimeter, with Jhonatan Vega knocking down early shots and Michael Quiñónez attacking the offensive boards. Alvarado answered with quick ball movement and dribble penetration, keeping the game within a single possession for most of the first period. The Raptors held a 24-21 edge after ten minutes.

Alvarado took control in the second quarter. Their guards pushed the pace, Muñoz found rhythm from mid-range, and Salazar repeatedly broke down the defense off the pick-and-roll. A 25-point quarter gave the home side a 46-43 halftime lead and plenty of momentum heading into the third.

That momentum vanished quickly after the restart. Zamora Raptors opened the third quarter with a 10-2 run, forcing Alvarado into contested jumpers and turnovers. Quiñónez anchored the defensive effort inside, while Vega and Luis Mina combined for 18 of the team’s 26 points in the period. By the end of the third, the Raptors had built a 69-64 cushion and silenced the home crowd.

Key Moments

Alvarado refused to fold. Early in the fourth quarter, Cárdenas scored inside and Salazar hit a step-back three to cut the deficit to 72-71. The teams traded baskets until a pair of free throws from Muñoz tied the game at 78-78 with just over five minutes remaining.

That was the moment Zamora Raptors found another gear. Vega hit a contested three from the top of the key, Quiñónez converted a putback dunk, and Mina blocked a driving layup on the other end. The 9-2 burst pushed the Raptors ahead 87-80 and forced Alvarado to chase the game.

Alvarado responded with a 6-2 run of its own, trimming the lead to 89-86 with under a minute to play. But the Raptors calmly knocked down four straight free throws in the closing seconds, sealing a 93-88 road win and handing Alvarado a frustrating home defeat.

After allowing Alvarado to score 46 points in the first half, the Raptors switched to a more active zone look that clogged the paint and forced the hosts into perimeter shots. Alvarado finished the night 9-of-26 from three-point range, while the Raptors shot 11-of-28 from beyond the arc.

Zamora also controlled the glass, finishing with a 42-38 rebounding advantage. Alvarado’s full-court pressure late in the fourth quarter created a few turnovers and made the finish tense, but the Raptors’ composure at the free-throw line proved decisive.
