Bochnia (W) produced one of the more impressive road performances of the Basket Liga Kobiet round on October 26, 2026, defeating Wroclaw Women's 89-81 after pulling away in the fourth quarter. The visitors trailed for long stretches but controlled the final ten minutes, turning a one-point deficit into a statement win in Poland's top women's basketball league.

Match overview

Wroclaw Women's started with better rhythm inside and led 22-20 after the first quarter. Bochnia responded in the second period, using quicker ball movement and better shot selection to edge ahead 43-41 at halftime. The third quarter was a back-and-forth affair, with neither side able to build a cushion; Wroclaw held a narrow 62-61 advantage going into the final period.

That is when Bochnia took over. The visitors outscored Wroclaw 28-19 in the fourth quarter, repeatedly attacking the basket and converting second-chance opportunities. The final margin of eight points slightly flattered Wroclaw, who were forced to foul late as Bochnia closed out the game from the free-throw line.

Key moments

The decisive stretch came midway through the fourth quarter. With Bochnia trailing 68-67, Katarzyna Zielińska hit back-to-back three-pointers to spark an 11-2 run. Wroclaw called timeout, but Bochnia's defensive pressure continued to disrupt the home side's half-court sets. A steal and fast-break layup from Magdalena Wójcik pushed the lead to 81-72 with under three minutes remaining, effectively sealing the result.

Tactical story

Bochnia's switch to a compact zone defense changed the game. Wroclaw had success feeding the ball into the post early, but the zone forced tougher entry passes and created turnovers. Bochnia scored 19 points off Wroclaw's 16 turnovers and won the offensive rebounding battle, generating crucial extra possessions. Wroclaw's interior scoring kept them close, but their perimeter shooting faded in the fourth quarter, and they were unable to match Bochnia's execution down the stretch.

Standout players

• Katarzyna Zielińska (Bochnia): 23 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, including the go-ahead three-pointers in the fourth quarter.
• Magdalena Wójcik (Bochnia): 18 points, 4 steals and constant pressure on Wroclaw's guards.
• Anna Kowalczyk (Wroclaw Women's): 21 points and 9 rebounds in a strong interior performance.
• Marta Nowak (Wroclaw Women's): 14 points and 6 assists, but she was limited to just two points in the final period.

Season impact

The win gives Bochnia a valuable road result in the Basket Liga Kobiet standings and reinforces their credentials as a team capable of competing away from home. For Wroclaw Women's, the defeat is a missed opportunity to build momentum, especially after leading entering the fourth quarter. Both sides will now turn their attention to the next round, with Bochnia looking to carry their closing form forward and Wroclaw aiming to fix their late-game execution.
