INEA AZS Poznan Women delivered a statement performance in the Basket Liga Kobiet, thrashing Jelenia Gora Women 97-38 in a game that was effectively decided long before the final buzzer. The hosts dominated every phase — offense, defense, rebounding, and transition — to record a comprehensive 59-point victory.

Match overview

From the opening tip, INEA AZS Poznań played with intensity and purpose. The hosts applied full-court pressure, forced turnovers, and converted those mistakes into quick points. Jelenia Góra Women struggled to handle the pressure, and the home side wasted little time in building a commanding lead.

The first quarter set the tone, with Poznań racing out to a 27-8 advantage. The second period was more of the same, as the hosts continued to move the ball efficiently and knock down open shots. By halftime, the game was already firmly under control at 51-18.

Key moments

The decisive run came in the opening minutes, when INEA AZS Poznań scored repeatedly in transition and forced Jelenia Góra into early turnovers. The visitors called timeout in an attempt to settle down, but the hosts’ defensive energy remained relentless. Every Poznań run was fueled by stops at the other end.

The third quarter brought no respite. Poznań extended the lead to 75-28 by the end of the period, and the final quarter allowed the bench to close out the game with the same intensity. Jelenia Góra kept working, but the gap in execution and physicality was simply too large.

Tactical story

INEA AZS Poznań’s defense was the foundation of the win. They pressured the ball handler, jumped passing lanes, and rotated quickly to contest shots. The hosts also dominated the defensive glass, preventing second-chance points and allowing their guards to run the break at every opportunity.

Offensively, Poznań shared the ball beautifully. They attacked the paint when it was available and kicked out for open three-pointers when the defense collapsed. Jelenia Góra, by contrast, struggled to establish any rhythm in the half-court and was forced into difficult shots throughout the night.

Standout performers

INEA AZS Poznań’s backcourt controlled the tempo and set the defensive tone, while the frontcourt dominated the boards and finished efficiently around the rim. The bench also made an impact, maintaining the team’s level of play in the closing stages. For Jelenia Góra Women, the effort never wavered, but the team could not find enough scoring punch to stay close.

Season impact

The 97-38 victory is a major boost to INEA AZS Poznan Women’s standings position and point differential in the Basket Liga Kobiet. It also sends a warning to the rest of the league about the hosts’ defensive ceiling. For Jelenia Gora Women, the loss is a difficult one, but the focus will quickly shift to correcting turnovers and finding more consistent offensive execution in the next round of results.
