Keltern Women delivered a commanding road performance in the Damen Basketball Bundesliga, beating TH Wohnbau Angels 77–53 in a game that was decided by a dominant defensive display and a decisive second-half surge.

The 24-point margin reflects a night on which Keltern controlled both ends of the floor, while the Angels struggled to generate consistent offense against a physical, well-organized defense.

Match Overview

• Final score: TH Wohnbau Angels (W) 53, Keltern Women 77
• Competition: Damen Basketball Bundesliga (German Women's Basketball League)
• Date: 4 October 2026
• Venue: Home court, Angels

The opening quarter was competitive, with the Angels finding some success inside and keeping the deficit manageable. Keltern, however, were already establishing the defensive tone that would define the evening, contesting every shot and forcing the hosts into uncomfortable decisions.

Key Moments

The game tilted in the second quarter. Keltern went on a sustained run, combining three-point shooting with offensive rebounds to blow the game open. The Angels went several minutes without a field goal, and the halftime margin had grown into double digits.

Any hope of a comeback in the third quarter was quickly extinguished. Keltern opened the second half with another burst, extending the lead past twenty and effectively ending the contest. The final period allowed both coaches to rotate their benches, with the visitors comfortably managing their advantage.

Tactical Story

Keltern's defensive rebounding was outstanding, limiting the Angels to very few second-chance points and allowing them to control the tempo. Their half-court defense switched effectively, disrupting the Angels' pick-and-roll actions and forcing turnovers that turned into easy transition baskets.

On offense, the visitors moved the ball with purpose, generating open looks from the perimeter and attacking the rim when the Angels closed out too hard. The Angels, by contrast, were forced into isolation play, and their shooting percentages suffered as a result.

Standout Performers

Keltern's perimeter players set the tone with accurate shooting and aggressive defense, while their interior players dominated the boards at both ends. The bench maintained the standard when substitutions came, showing the depth that makes them a difficult matchup across the league.

For TH Wohnbau Angels, the effort was visible, particularly from their guards who battled for loose balls throughout, but the offense lacked the fluidity needed to break down such a disciplined opponent.

Season Impact

For Keltern Women, this is the kind of road result that builds championship credentials — a comfortable win, on the road, with the rotation contributing throughout. It also delivers a strong point-differential advantage that can prove valuable in the standings.

The Angels will return to the training court focused on offensive execution and rebounding, knowing that in the Damen Basketball Bundesliga the gap between mid-table and the top group is often closed by exactly these kinds of fundamentals.
