Key Moments

With 30 seconds remaining and the score tied at 79-79, MBC's point guard drove baseline and drew a foul, calmly sinking both free throws to give her team a two-point lead. Hannover had a final chance to tie or win, but a well-contested jump shot from the elbow rimmed out, and MBC secured the rebound as time expired.

The win was built on a decisive 10-2 run midway through the fourth quarter. Trailing 71-67, MBC rattled off eight straight points, including back-to-back three-pointers from their small forward. Hannover fought back to level the game, but they could not quite get over the hump in the final minute.

Tactical Story

Both teams played with high intensity and a clear game plan. MBC looked to push the pace and attack the basket, aiming to get to the free-throw line — a strategy that paid off, as they attempted 24 free throws to Hannover's 16. Hannover, meanwhile, relied on their perimeter shooting and inside presence, hitting 9 three-pointers but struggling to contain MBC's dribble penetration.

Defensively, MBC's ability to force turnovers proved crucial. They registered 11 steals, often turning defence into quick transition points. Hannover's half-court defence was solid for long stretches but broke down in the fourth quarter when MBC increased their intensity. The rebounding battle was also key, with MBC's late offensive rebounds helping them close out the game.

Standout Players

MBC's point guard was the hero of the night, finishing with 22 points, six assists and four steals, including the game-winning free throws. Their small forward added 18 points, including three three-pointers, while the centre recorded a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds. A reserve guard provided a valuable spark with 11 points off the bench.

For TK Hannover Women, the leading scorer poured in 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds, but she was denied a fairytale ending on the final shot. Their shooting guard added 16 points, and the power forward contributed 13 points and nine rebounds. Despite the loss, Hannover showed why they are considered one of the most dangerous offensive teams in the league.
