Randers Cimbria produced a commanding home performance in the Danish Basketball League on 18 October 2026, defeating Copenhagen Wolfpack 93-71. The 22-point margin told the story of a game that Randers controlled for long stretches, combining efficient half-court offense with a defensive effort that gradually took Copenhagen out of rhythm.

The result gives Randers Cimbria an important early-season boost and adds another strong home result to their league resume. For Copenhagen Wolfpack, the defeat underlined the difficulty of keeping pace with a Randers side that shared the scoring load and punished mistakes in transition.

Match overview

Randers set the tone early and never allowed Copenhagen to settle into a comfortable offensive flow. The hosts built a six-point lead after the first quarter and stretched the advantage before halftime, then used a strong third-quarter push to put the game beyond reach.

• First quarter: Randers Cimbria 24-18 Copenhagen Wolfpack
• Second quarter: Randers Cimbria 23-17 Copenhagen Wolfpack
• Third quarter: Randers Cimbria 24-19 Copenhagen Wolfpack
• Fourth quarter: Randers Cimbria 22-17 Copenhagen Wolfpack
• Final score: Randers Cimbria 93-71 Copenhagen Wolfpack

Key moments

The decisive spell came around the middle of the third quarter. Randers opened the second half with sharper ball movement and repeatedly found open looks against Copenhagen's rotating defense. A quick run pushed the lead into double digits, and the Wolfpack were never able to respond with a sustained scoring burst of their own.

Copenhagen's best moments came in the opening minutes and during a brief second-quarter rally, but each time the visitors threatened to close the gap, Randers answered with a timely basket or a defensive stop. By the final period, the hosts were able to manage the game comfortably and protect their advantage.

Tactical story

Randers won this game through balance. The hosts attacked from multiple positions rather than relying on one dominant scorer, which made Copenhagen's defensive rotations difficult to sustain. Randers also controlled the defensive glass and limited second-chance opportunities, forcing Copenhagen to work hard for nearly every point.

Copenhagen's offense showed flashes in transition but struggled when forced into longer possessions. Randers' defensive pressure disrupted entry passes and created enough extra possessions to keep the margin growing. On the other end, Randers' patience in the half court allowed them to find cutters and open shooters with regularity.

Standout performers

Randers received a strong all-around contribution from their backcourt, with guards controlling tempo and finding teammates in scoring positions. The interior players also made their presence felt on the boards and around the rim, giving Randers a balanced attack that Copenhagen could not contain for four quarters.

For Copenhagen, there were individual efforts worth noting, particularly from the team's primary ball-handlers who tried to keep the offense organized. However, the Wolfpack lacked the consistent secondary scoring needed to match Randers' output over the full 40 minutes.

Season impact

This win strengthens Randers Cimbria's position in the Danish Basketball League standings and gives the team momentum as the season progresses. A 22-point home victory can be valuable beyond the standings, especially when it comes with contributions from multiple players and a strong defensive performance.

Copenhagen Wolfpack will need to regroup quickly, tighten their half-court execution and find more reliable scoring support around their leading options. The final score was one-sided, but the lessons from the game are clear: against a balanced team like Randers, Copenhagen cannot afford prolonged scoring droughts.
